Does anyone know any cool French websites/forums?
Can be about anything, preferable history though.



ps, its not that Aoplyton sucks, i am learning french and some cool french places would be very helpful.

You can try forums from Caramail. The service sucks, the forum in't convenient, and most people are there just to shout on each other, but the community is absolutely huge (hundreds of thousands I think).

You can go to the best forum in the world Just kidding, it is the forum of my group of friends, and is down most of the time anyway.

I know the Civ forum of The Grenouille is convenient, quite fast, and has enough people for you to have something to read every day. I have no idea of their OT community though

But if you are looking for a huge community, Caramail is definitely and shamelessly the way to go. I think they demand you to apply to the service however (they're a crappy email prvider in the fist place)

Something like "Jeel" or "Jill".
The English language always include a "d" sonority when saying "j". Please notice that the French "j" has not this "d" sonority (do you get my point ? )

You have the "j" sound all right (really, no problem at all). The "i" could be more acute, but it is no problem
Edit : besides, a lot of people want to hear your voice it seems : 4 hits before I even downloaded it

Ah thanks very much. I can never remember when the "G" is changed to a soft consonant (is it always before an "i"?)

G turns into a soft consonant in front of e, i, and y. It becomes a hard consonant (like Guardian) in front of a, o, and u, and everything that is not a vowel. These rules are out of my head, so it is possible I have missed a letter, but I don't think so.
