I was passing with my parents through the border check point between San Diego and Tijuana, and I had to show my American passport because they thought my parents were smuggling a Mexican boy... they thought I was mexican. That is how bad it gets. I also been mistaken for being Argentinian and on way more than one occasion.. lol...

After a couple of drinks? Well that might help..

Seriously, though - if anyone has traffic warrants, visa restrictions, or what not, you don't want to cross on foot or by bus, because they will scan your ID and check against the DoJ W&W database.

Now if you're driving across, like Ramon Arellano-Felix did, that's ok. All ol' Ramon had to do was go cross in Texas.

How does the first weekend in August sound to everyone? We can totally do it sooner but I want to make it far enough in advance so people can make arrangements with bosses, look for hotel room (or ask to stay with friends), make travel arrangements, save money, and what not.

Would something like Saturday Aug 2 through Sunday Aug 3 work? If people wanted they could head to SD/TJ on Friday night and get a feel for the local clubbing scene.

CSUN: California State University Northridge. It is next to the San Fernando Valley, in one of the nicest places in Los Angeles.

I thought you said you'd be moving to SD not LA. Hmmm, I guess you could call Northridge nice but I know some people who'd argue with you.

It sort of depends on what your looking for in a city. If you don't like urban sprawl, traffic, and smog then it suchs but if you like great nightlife, lots of cultural mixing, and a central location then its good.

I would like to move to San Diego, but my choices are limited there.

Who'd argue that Northridge is not nice? I applied to nine universities (yes nine), got accepted to eight but my sister already living there helped me figure out what the best one was.

I'll be fine. And L.A doesn't have too much smog. You ever live in Quito for two years? Gah..... the city was covered with a layer of thick smog.. and it is in a deep valley between two volcanoes. The bus spew out smog like you wouldn't believe.

Early August sounds ok to me.

I'll likely be on the east coast for a little while later in August, and working up in the LA area some days in June and July.

California might be doable for me. I"m too lazy to read the rest of the thread, could someone give me the gist of it?

LA or San Diego. The northern cities are bit far to drive. Although I"ll be working, so I doubt I can go unless it is on a Sunday, Monday, or Tuesday.

although I think you guys should consider Las Vegas.

Or how about Tijuana? I've heard about the crazy **** that goes on down there, I've been meaning to check that stuff out

OK my lazy ass read the rest of the thread.

I can probably get saturday off. I can change my work days so I'm not losing any money. And I normally get sundays off.

I'm pretty much free any weekend, I have no life .

For me I think it's a 5 hour drive to San Diego. I'm not sure, I have never been there. Back in the day you could make it to LA in 4 hours. But that was when traffic wasn't as bad. I'm not sure how far SD is from LA. 90 miles? The good thing is I can escape most traffic because I'm going the opposite way. All the traffic comes into Vegas on Friday and Saturday and leaves on Sunday. But I'd be leaving on Friday Saturday and coming in on sunday monday.

Question before I go: Does anyone here at Apolyton want to kill me?

San Diego is too far south. How about something a bit more centrally located, like Crescent City?
