Good US:
Liberates Iraq, sets up new Iraqi government, rebuilds economy, leaves.
Bad US:
Conquers Iraq, exterminates resistance, annexes the oil producing areas, and conventionally bombs any arab countries that doesn't like it into ruin. Pump the place dry and leave.

OK, that wasn't quite serious, but true nevertheless.

Sandman, the Iraqi economy is basicly oil, just oil. If they are selling oil, they have their economy back. When oil rich countries run out of oil, or when oil is no longer in such demand, they will return to the status they held prior to their oil boom. Basicly overpopulated agrarian economies.
Dino, a side discussion regarding the effectiveness of Russia. I claimed that we stopped the westward expansion of Russia for the first time in 500 years. He replied that prior to '45, the Russians were not moving west, were in fact a joke in europe.

Sava, good, I hope the US gains back some of its expense by using US companies in the rebuilding.
The administration has clearly stated that US forces will be leaving Iraq. Niether Iran or Syria has been attacked. It's possible that our rough treatment of Saddam's military will leave these other regimes in fear of their existance, and cooperative in the areas of terrorism and WMD. Maybe so, maybe not. Whatever the war on terrorism requires, I have confidence will be done.

Sava, you'll never be convinced otherwise, so why should I try? Imran and Shi and a few others often bother, try them.

I simply look at what happens in the real world. You might be inandated with their self-righteous rhetoric, or perhaps you legitimately believe their cause; but you cannot deny the facts, the money trail, and the effects of their policy. Tell me where I am wrong, please!
1. This war is funded by taxpayers.
2. Defense contractors and other close constituents are making money
3. Tax cuts are given, the vast majority of which going to the richest Americans
4. In the "reconstruction" more constituents will profit off of said war.
5. The deficit will be passed on to the next administration, or continued until a Democrat president.
I'm sorry Lancer, but it's the truth. I wish you could see that. It's easy for you to dismiss this as a troll, or consider me some brainwashed victim of the "liberal" media; but every month when I look at my 401k statements, look at the job market, or drive by a country club with Bush\Cheney signs under an American flag; it confirms my suspicions.
