We need those roads built around Baku ASAP! Unless they have vital work to do around Stalingrad, airlift them!

What I once did (but in a later phase of the war) was launch an amphibious assault on Romania and take Galati. By doing so, you creat a second front. You take some cities with almost no defense, destroy industry and roads and kill as many units as you can. The best time to do this is in winter, for then bombers cannot attack your freighters.
This is not something we can do now, but we could keep this in mind. If the Germans don't react, they loose many cities, if they react, we can defeat them more easily around Stalino, and throw them back to Kherson. Either way, we win! (But this comes only later, when we have more and better units)

i've done this too, but without alot of success untill 1943 onwards. But, properly supported, this could be a real possibility in winter '42/'43 (if we still have the Crimia...). Any chnage of capturing the Romanian oil fields do you think?

Well, if you take Galati, you have one of their oil fields, plus Ploesti lies in range of tank hunters, to destroy their 88mm guns. When we take Ploesti, we get more money AND we deny it from him, together with a passage to Odessa for his Romanian troops. I admit we should only do this in '43, but we could make some preparations (building the right units in time).
It's a long shot, but it could shorten the war with some months (which invasion wasn't a long shot in WWII?)

Why do you fortify units outside Rostov? They will be better protected inside the city, with the tank defenses and AA (in the summer)

But one is fortified and thus had some movementpoints left. I'm not criticising your decisions, only aking for a reason.
