	Temporary (and backup) Private Forums for PTWDG II Got spare money?

I have posted here at MZO about MasterZen setting up temparary Private forums for the PTWDG II, while we wait for MarkG to get them set up here. After they get set up here, we can use them as backups like the ones for the PTWDG I.

Hell, if you guys want private forums and start the game ASAP we could do it over there.

However, I would need confirmation that every team would use them.

Let's not start PTWDG 2 until PTWDG 1's problem is corrected. I don't want to to keep starting DGs only to have THEM ALL CEASE TO FUNCTION AFTER A FEW MONTHS OF GAMEPLAY.

who says the problem will be corrected? Until and if Firaxis gets back to us, the problem will be unresolved. Making the game up from scratch is hardly correcting the problem in a technical sense.

I've had PBEMs go way past the PTWDG and no problems...

Zen is right. This isn't something inevitable (many PBEM games have gone beyond that point), and there's really no assurance that the problem will even get solved at all...

But we have no idea what caused the problem and its highly probable we will repeat the circumstances that caused it the first time.

but it will be a complete new game, new map, new civs, etc. I think the odds of the problem repeating itself are veeery low.

I once had this happen with a SP game which i modded. I played another game with the same mod and nothing happens. Must be some hidden crash bug. I dunno about these things....

If we are not sure what caused it, then it can not be stated that it would be highly probable that it would happen again without pure speculation on your part.

There a no facts in this case yet of the PWDG I crash. No assumptions can be made either until the exact problem is located and identified and made repeatable without exception.

There are countless other PBEM games that have gone beyond the point that the PTWDGI has.

To predict that the same crash in PTWDG I game will befall the PTWDG II game is pure speculation.
