Because of the Earth map (IMHO). For most players it is more exiting to play on unknown terrain. Playing on Earth map means that you know exactly where to explore, where to build, where you find the resources, etc. Boring.
One more thing could be that generally Earth maps are large maps, which means very-very long PBEM games.

If you had asked : "Expressions of interest for a PBEM using a random, small map and standard rules?" then I'd have already signed in.

Six players would be the absolute maximum I'd want to play with and four or five is optimal. There are too many complications with more than six players and turns take too long.

You know what? As long as the game will be on a small or regular map, WM or not, I'm interested.

6 players is fine.

- Culture flipping - ON
- acelerated production - OFF
- civ: Babylon
- anything else - random

I'm at GMT-6 and have time around noon and midnight here. That ought to be when the little hand is pointing down in Grenwich, but I'm up past my bedtime now and don't feel like doing such complicated math.

My usual playing hours is about 7 PM - 10 PM GMT, Monday to Friday. On weekends, I usually can connect from 12 PM to 12 AM GMT
