U.S. Expels 14 Cuban Diplomats

HAVANA (Reuters) - The United States is expelling 14 Cuban diplomats for "activities deemed harmful to the United States," an American diplomat in Havana said on Tuesday.

"There have been people declared persona non grata: seven from the Cuban interest section in Washington and seven from the Cuban mission at the United Nations ," he told Reuters.

That's the only other explanation I can think of... I mean, if people were concerned about human rights and suffering, they'd be focusing more on Africa. There's more death and suffering in that Continent than anywhere else in the world. My theory is that these Cuba-haters are just suffering from the years of anti-Commie rhetoric that has been beat into their skulls over the years. Sure, Castro's a d1ckhead; freedom in that country is oppressed; human rights violations occur... but come on... when compared to Africa, Cuba is a Club Med.

I was born in the USSR. It sucked the big one. The only reason Russians might prefer the old system is that right now they are undertaxed and their government can't afford a decent police system.

My only regreat is I missed it.

On topic :
I wasn't aware there were stable diplomatic missions between Cuba and the US. Except for the embargo, are the siplomatic relations between the two countries 'normalized' ?

Also, I wonder if Castro will expel a couple of American spies in retaliation, or if he'll try to minimize the incident.

Have about 2 F-14 fly by Havana at about 1200 mph at about 50 feet above the sea. a few hundred yard off the city. Unarmed of course.
