Ok, here is a poll for the name of the newspaper, currently known as 3D. We have 2 distinct questions.

I vote Digital Data Download and 3D.

It will not be daily, thus daily data download is inappropriate and illogical, and 3D has a double meaning, is easier to understand and reminds me of p4. D^3 looks good, and I won't mind if it is chosen, but seems more complicated unnecessarily,and will mean telling everyone on the main forum that it is renamed. We already use 3D, so I don't think there is that much reason to change.

D^3 is the more logical choice.

When expanded out, D^3 comes out as DDD, whereas 3D expanded comes as D+D+D.

Well, DDD is still 3 D's. D+D+D is DDD, it is just in Earthian mathematics they chose to presume a * (or x) when there was no symbol present.

3D = D+D+D
D^3 = D*D*D

If each D is worth a value, then sure 2D is worth twice what 1D is worth, and 3D is worth 3 times as much. However, with D^3, we are saying that we one D we have D, with 2 we have D times D, and with 3 we have D*D*D, which we do not have, since 3 Ds should be worth the 3 times as much as 1 D, and we have 3 Ds in the title.

That was all long winded and silly [You Don't Say! --TKG ], but I think the fact that in old Earth notation we get DDD is irrelevant, since written in full it would be D*D*D. We have 3 Ds in the title, not D times D number of Ds.
