	Clumping strategic resources Support Apolyton, buy Galactic Civilizations: Deluxe Edition

A very long time ago, I saw a post by someone who was trying to work out (or HAD worked out) how to mod Civ3 so that strategic resources got distributed on the map in 'clumps', like luxuries get distributed by default; and luxuries got all scattered about.

So for example nearly all the Oil in the world would be in just one desert area (sound familiar? ), whereas there would be sources of Gems all over the world.

I have tried using the editor to simply change the Resource Type of Oil, Coal etc to Luxury, and of Gems, Wine etc to Strategic, and this DOES result in the kind of distribution I want; however it completely confuses the game engine.

Any thoughts? Has this been done already?

I don't think it is possible. You would have to trick the random generator to do that is someway.

You can do this if you make the map yourself. Otherwise I think you're out of luck.
