Put an end to popups!

Anything pleasurable is a good thing. If a person is truly happy he/she can only do good. All "sin" (which by my definition is an act harmful to the individual or those around him) comes from unhappiness, discomfort and fear. Stealing a car or solicting an underage prostitute may give you a rush but it's not pleasure.

Thats not even close to being true Narz, as i did recieve some pleasure from Drugs and drinking. I slept with married women. I got pleasure. I am not boasting..just staing that sin can and often is pleasurable..like a wrapping paper around a "gift"..but once the wrapping is off..then you see what indeed you get yourself into.

If a Bank robber killsa an innocent person takes down 1/2 million dollars, uses drugs, coerces someone into the same mode of entertainment, they both recieve "pleasure"..then how can this be considered "Not Sinful"??

Is this bank robber you speak of really happy or just trying to escape?

If you recieved so much pleasure from your "sinful ways", why did you stop?

To me, drugs & alcohol seem more about escaping pain (or reality which one might view as pain) than becoming fulfilled.

childrens commit sinful behaviors and are more capable of doing so.

If anything, they are more primal in nature. And that leads them to do sinful deeds without having so called "higher concious" telling them not to.

As for children conceived with sins:

Christianity claims we are all conceived with sins. so everyone is a sinner as soon as they are born.

Right, according to Christianity we are all sinners, we cannot be perfect no matter what, only Jesus was perfect. When we follow our natures we are sinful, when were are good it's only because of God that we can be good. Enough to drive one to drink!

Good thing I don't believe in that stuff.

Well I don't prescribe to the whole sin idea, I just avoid hurting others with my actions.

As for pure bliss, nothing beats the last 500 metres of a 2.6k rowing race, when you are completely ****ed and then take it up a gear or two to the finish, after which you can collapse. Endorphin rush is better than any drug.

After that go out, get drunk, pull some cute girl... Oops Guess I better be quiet now...

Since "sins" are actions against the will of the Judeo-Christianity god, whom should be rejected with the rest of neolithic supersititions, therefore there is nothing such as a sin.

Why do you see religion as an addiction? Troll's offering you a way out, what worked for him. You can either take his hand or say no thanks, but either way you should thank him for offering.

It's not always easy, but we do get the means and the support to fix up our broken lives. I've had much joy since I've been a Christian, so many good people have helped me in ways I can't even start to thank them all.

Back on topic,

There is nothing better than the feeling you get after hiking up a steep cliff when you look out across the water and the city of Vancouver. Also, at night, when the sun sets and you can see the city lights shine over the water, something well worth waiting the day to see.

Making yourself a chocolate milkshake after a long day, or even immersing oneself in a good book. So easy to kill a weekend that way.

Option 1- Get minged, get drunk, get into one of those really pointless drunken fights that just consist of loads of shoving and shouting, and top the evening off with a knee-trembler in a betting shop doorway with someone you'll forget before she's halfway through her kebab.

Option 2- Read a book.

Sex is sinful - and is only permitted in marriage if youre consciously trying to conceive a child without lustful thoughts - thats St. Augustine, i beleive.

Alcohol is sinful - Islam, and fundamentalist Protestantism.

This threads view of religion is terribly skewed towards western christianity(usually in its protestant form) and Islam.

There are some religions where marital sex is not only not sinful, but is a good thing, even when not conceiving a child - and where use of alcohol is permitted - in moderation and with appropriate blessings very much an acceptable pleasure.
