Johnny Cash... LMFAO Support Apolyton, buy Alpha Centauri

I guess I really didn't know much about him. I'd only heard stuff like Boy Named Sue and Ring of Fire, but apparantly he's been covering all sorts of stuff for a while now.

Here's some of the songs he's done covers of:
NIN - Hurt
Depeche Mode - Personal Jesus
Soundgarden - Rusty Cage

WTF? Johnny Cash covering Trent Reznor and Chris Cornell? Download them, they're hysterical

If by 'hysterical', you mean 'fantastic', then I totally agree.

'The Man Comes Around' is a spectacular album, says I.

Hysterical?!

Cash's 'Hurt' is one of the most haunting and BEST songs in years! Definetly the best remake ever (much better than Hendrix's 'All Along the WatchTower').

to that. Cash singing those words carries so much more weight than Reznor.

I like his cover of 'In My Life', too, but not enough to say it's better than the original.

Some music just doesn't sound as good after you've heard it too many times. For me Led Zeppelin and Hendrix are like that.

The first time I saw the video for and heard the song Hurt performed by Cash i felt close to tears. I'm a cynical man and not a Johnny Cash-fan. If that makes me insane, I salute insanity!

The Man In Black rules.

Say a prayer for him, folks, he's taken a huge loss recently.

He's also covered Nick Cave's "The Mercy Seat" and Danzig's "13". What's more, they're all brilliant.

Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

When I was just a baby, my mama told me, "Son,
Always be a good boy; don't ever play with guns."
But I shot a man in Reno, just to watch him die.
When I hear that whistle blowin' I hang my head and cry.

Cash is utter crap. The only thing he has going for him is a rather distinctive voice and pitiful pitch, but that's not a plus.

I listened to that entire Hurt song. My ears, my ****ing ears...

It sounds exactly like all the old men at the retirement home I work at.

Damn Your Eyes!

What's with all the Cash-hatin' going on? The man is 'cool' personified... Hell, he invented 'cool'!

I haven't seen much criticism of his songs outside of the "he's an old man" argument, so I'll just assume that the reactionaries are just fuelled by their kneejerk reactions to older musicians.

to Cash!
