I've waited for this game for years. I am one of the Delphi veterans and I guess I have been one of the most optimistic people about this game... until I started playing.
I won't be listing those gazillions of flaws in this game - too many people have done it on numerous occasions. What I want to do is to say why I personally feel so much betrayed. I’m sure there are lots of people who share these feelings.
OK, I don't blame the designers, they did what they could. Obviously they could do very little, now that we have it clear. I don't know why, maybe they are just a bunch of underqualified a####les or some of them thought too much about their own merchandise kinda like "[screwed by Shmantz]" instead of the game etc. This is not the point.
My point is that it's not the designers who betrayed fans by making a pathetic piece of computer code. It's a pretty defined group of people who lied to fans and even now keep trying to brainwash the weakest ones: beta-testers and Infogrames forum moderators. Many of these are 2 in 1.
THE BETA-TESTERS
Looking at the beta tester reports I now think they might have played a different game... or they just pathetically lied to the forum about MOO3. The game came out with so many obvious flaws that are normally first thing what beta-testers should spot. Save-game flaw - is the most outrageous one. I guess instead of keep being honest men they kept licking QS bottoms for reasons that are beyond me. I'm sure the non-disclosure agreement they signed provided them the way to quit, but too many of them choose to post those reports about how wonderful and flawless the MOO3 was and to cheat on the community. This came to material loss for many, people threw away 50 bucks and many are now trying to get back at least a tenner through e-bay and places like that. Beta-testers, you suck.
INFOGRAMES FORUM MODERATORS
Oh, need I say more... Deleting negative posts, sticking some crap like "you should switch your brain into a beta stage, relax and keep saying at least a 1000 times a day 'I love MOO3, it is the most wonderful game' to start liking this game", attacking posters who demonstrated doubts about the merits of the game etc. This forum [Infogrames] reminds me of Stalinist Russia.
THE VERDICT
I lost all my interest to this game after playing for almost 2 months. It's pathetic, dull, buggy and does not deserve to be called Master of Orion. However I do sincerely think that it's not all lost even for this reincarnation. There was a game a while ago called Flanker 2, a flight simulator. The 2.0 version was crap. They tried to patch it, but to no result. Then they said OK, we will redesign the major elements into version 2.5, whoever has the 2.0 version will be able to get a CD upgrade to 2.5. for free and new buyers will get straight to 2.5. That was a fair deal!!! 2.5 version was brilliant. I think this is the way QS should go if they feel they are up to it. However if you they know they are crap at programming I think it would be fair to not to do it, which would most likely mean that after the MOO3 disaster this is the last of this series.
PS: This is the post I made on the Infogrames forums around a month ago. Since I lost the interest to the game I've only found out today that as if just to prove some of my points my original post was so heavily censored and edited, so I barely could recognise it. I hope those corrupt individuals didn't get any control of this particular forum and this message will be seen and discussed.
I prefer calling things their names, if I think the game is pathetic I will say so and will say why, if on my opinion moderators on Infogrames suck, I will say so as well and also say why, if my post gets deleted or censored... well I will find a more democratic forum.

I followed Moo3 from the beginning, and I must say after owning the game its a let down in a big way. Nothing we were promised was truely granted, and what we were given was a hair from the wilderbeast it should have been. I played Moo and Moo2, but I honestly don't know if I'm willing to invest in any more of this series.
If they get MOM and mess it up this bad, I won't be buying anything from them Ever.

I still think the simultaneous release was intentional so the "believers" would buy the game before word of mouth got out on its true state?
Did anyone see a beta tester comment on the PD bug?
I think Stason is right on.
But,
"The patch will save us."

LOL they might as well not release the code patch. If there even is one. They wont make any more money from here on out. It would be a waste for them to try to fix this game. years upon developement----WTF were they doing LMAO. Probably spent up all their money and had no choice but to release it. Best game of the decade my ars. LOL.
Ive stood up for MOO3 for the longest time--but i see no point in even waiting for the code patch. They probably already abandoned it as well as this game. perhaps someday MOO4 will be released and actually will be a good game. But as far as MOO3-it was the biggest let down ive had in the gamers community. SIGH.
