	Change of Command: vondrack Help yourself to an AD-FREE life

Yeah... dunno what it is... perhaps it's a CoC season?

According to the paragraph G.3.h. of the current Constitution, I am hereby calling a Change of Command vote on myself. It is not meant as a "confirmation" vote, I do not intend to run for the post again.

As I informed my fellow Consuls about a fourtnight ago, I feel a strong need to take a break - usual mixture of exhaustion from (almost) sleepless nights spent in the chatroom and posting in the forums, RL reasons, health problems, and whatnot... I originally planned to finish the whole AltSp agenda first, but the CoC vote called on MWIA by Dominae seems to be a good opportunity to do things in a bit simpler way - electing two new Consuls at the same time.

I would like to take this opportunity and say big "Thank you!" to everybody showing support for what I have been doing in/for this team for the last three months. I really appreciated your words of encouragement, they're very much needed! I feel now a bit uneasy I'm sort of failing your trust by resigning... but the thing is that someone fresher needs to take over. I am no longer having the proper drive... and, sigh, interest...

I will keep handling my Consular duties, especially playing turns and taking care of the AltSp adoption, until the new Consuls are elected.

You have been one constant voice of reason in this forum. Not that I don't have repsect for other's in here, but nearly the same I have for you.

I hope there is something someone can do or say that would persuade you to change your mind.

I really think moving one Consul in and out per month might be wiser. NYE and Vondrack training one new guy: Not a big deal. NYE training two new guys and playing turns and other consular duties: Dead NYE.

Ugh. Perhaps *I* should propose an amendment.

I'm afraid you may not be able to convince vondrack, guys. This has been in the running for some time.

We thought there would be no problem, as I knew I could post a lot once I got to Oz, and there would only be the one CoC. Not so sure any more....

I'm happy to see we have people willing to take the responsibility.

And as for the "too many new Consuls" concern - I will do my best to be of help to them. I promise to finish the work on AltSp, to keep the report thread up-to-date, at least for few weeks before things settle down again... and hopefully prepare the stuff for someone else to easily take over then.

Once again, guys, thanks for all your support. But I do have serious RL and health reasons - even if there was nothing else, these would be enough to make it almost a necessity for me to quit.

vondrack, you've been the perfect Consul, IMO. Your efforts and presence will be missed.

But RL does take precedence, and there is no use in arguing with that. I hope you still remain faithful to the ISDG (you'll want to be there when we overrun CDG, no?!).

Seriously, I am very saddened at this as IMO Vondrack has been a true example of dedication to this team, I have never before seen such professionalism in posting reports, in the chatroom, etc etc, he is truly the best example of what a consul should be as well as being a wonderful person in his own right.

You will be missed.

Vondrack: although I'm not very involved in this game, I can say that I was deeply impressed throughout the past few months by your commitment and contribution to this game. I'm sure that there are plenty of other silent participants that feel the same.
I'm sorry to see you go, Vondrack, but I won't doubt your reasoning behind this decision, not for a moment.
I wish you all the best. May your path meet with this community again sometime in the future.

I think I forgot to state something here... although I'm stepping down from the Consular post, I do not intend to quit from the team completely. I hope to be able to hang around, comment on things, and keep taking care of the turn report thread.

I have no problem spending an hour here every day - it is actually a great way to relax. But the job of a Consul (at least if done the way I was trying to do it) needs MUCH more than an hour every day. Average of 2-3 hours a day, I think, but often as much as 5-8 hours in a single day (when something important is going on). As the game progresses, the timeload is getting higher... and as I'm unable to cut the time spent on my business (done using the computer, too) too much, I'm cutting my "free" time I used to do some sports - and it unfortunately has a major impact on my health. If it was just that I've got a little bit... ahem... heavier... it would be okay. But I am having more and more troubles with my legs (poor blood circulation causing inflammations in the veins), caused by constant sitting. Pretty sad, if you consider I am just 30...

Because of this, I have to limit the time I spend sitting at my desk... those 2-3 extra hours make a very big difference.

Yeah... I know, I know... I am just getting old... it's going to be only worse from now on...

I know what you mean about getting old.... I'm 34 and I wake up sometimes hurting in places that I never even know I had!

It'll be so great to have you still be able to be around the team and contribute.
