Zaphod: travel from Maastricht to London and back should be pretty cheap as well, you really should check on that (as well as other nearby airfields), you might be pleasantly surprised.

Yeah, it's weird how that works. I'll actually be paying like 3 times more on the train ticket from Eindhoven to my home town of Hengelo (~100 km) than I'll be paying for the flight from London to Eindhoven (~400 km).

And then to think that I'm getting a 50% student discount on that train ticket as well...

Well, if all you are looking for is a pit to crash out in, suggest you enter LONDON BACKPACKER into Google and take your pick. Most seemed to be based around Victoria.

Have fun folks. Sorry, can't make it to the meet... but am happy to help with suggestions to sort out problems / ways to have fun.

EDIT: One suggestion for something to do in "the evening"... Escape from Samsara, The Fridge, Brixton. Don't worry, it's only 5 minutes walk from the Tube along the main road - if you are in a group you will be fine.

Did this journey lots on my own when I was a VJ.

Big Crunch, no death metal. Trance/Techno - very laid back crew.
