GameSpy “No Internet Connection” fix and questions Increase the size of your Attachments

Hi,

Several of you have had an error stating “No Internet Connection” when trying to run GameSpy or start a game on GameSpy even though you are connected to the Internet. A possible cause of this problem is that some of your DirectX files have been corrupted. We have not been able to reproduce this problem on-site, but we believe we have a solution. We need your help to try to determine what is causing this issue so we can include an in-game fix (or at least more helpful error messages) for players that don’t actively seek information online.

If you are having this problem, please open your Windows “Control Panel” and open “DirectX”. Select the “DirectPlay” tab, then click on the “DXDiag.. .” in the bottom right. This program helps determine if there is anything wrong with your current installation of DirectX.

When you load up the DirectX Diagnostic Tool, select the “Network” tab. There should be a few displays here listing Registered DirectPlay Service Providers, Registered Lobbyable DirectPlay Applications, DirectX Features, and Notes. Please scroll through these and look for any error messages. If there are errors, such as entries in the registry column that do not read “OK”, the Notes section does not contain “No problems found”, or anything else that is clearly malfunctioning, please post to this thread with detailed information on the text of the error. Please include info on:

- how you installed DirectX9 (from RoN, from another game, from MS web site)
- if you have uninstalled DirectX9 before installing RoN
- if you have had difficulties playing other games online with DirectX9

If there are files that DXDiag has identified as being corrupt, please make copies of them before you perform the fix and list them in your post. We may need the corrupted files to test our fix.

To fix the “No internet connection” error, uninstall DirectX and reinstall DirectX9. (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...&displaylang=en)

Thanks!

DXDIAG Browse Apolyton AD-FREE

From DirectX 9.0, the DX control panel & DXDIAG don't get installed anymore.
To get the DirectX control panel, download the following file:

http://www.neowin.net/downloads/dx9_cpl.zip

You can execute the .CPL inside to get the DirectX control panel and run DxDiag.
