One minimizes windows; the other zooms them (between the user's favourite size and the manufacturer's default size). It's not difficult. Took me less than a second to understand.

I sent him a few e-mails.

It turns out he basically relies on all of his XP knowledge on what people tell him alone.

He's still making tons of ****ups, like not being able to tell apart MDI and MTI interfaces. Then he compares an MDI (Photoshop) with MTI (Excel) and says they're inconsistent.

Still, I thought he made a good job of trashing your points about the taskbar.

Where does he compare Photoshop with Excel? I don't believe I've seen that.

Anyway post another desktop. Don't you run Linux? No one has put up a pic of that yet as far as I remember.

This is listed under his list of "limitations" for the Taskbar. It's labeled "inconsistent treatment of Taskbar labels for MDI windows". The thing is, of course, Excel is not an MDI Window.

There are 3 main types of Windows applications: SDI (Notepad, Paint), MDI (Photoshop, etc), and MTI (Office 2000/XP, GiMP, etc).

This guy, in his infinite wisdom, doesn't seem to know MTIs exist,and clump them up with MDIs, then says there isn't a consistent MDI interface.

I haven't booted into Linux in over a month. The OS f*cking sucks so I only boot in it when I need to for homework.

Heh, well observed . It's a useful program. I crush almost all PNGs I put online nowadays - ten percent shaved off from filesize is a great help to those with less capable connections (including me since my upstream is generally saturated by the donkey)...
