I have several ideas, which I don't know how to fulfil.
First, I was thinking of creating unique infantry lines.
Instead of usual light / heavy / ranged lines, I thought of:
rangers, para, marine.
the rangers would autmoatically have some of the abilities that the general has (entrench, ambush)
the paratroopers can obviously paradrop (which appears not to exist in the game... yet)
and the marines would be the only ones able to attack from the sea, like all units do now. The rest would have to fit into transport ships, and will not "transform" automatically.
Now, any ideas about how do I do that?

The best idea I've heard for balancing naval is to require that units be in X radius of a friendly dock to embark.
I have no idea if that's possible using the existing XML structure, but I'd be really surprised. It doesn't seem that flexible.

You could make the marines swim in an out of the water(in order to make them swim you could use a new transport that looks exactly like the marine). When they are in the water they can swim up to boats and place a bomb on it causeing severe damage to the boat. Also when in the water the marine could be cloaked.
