I regret to announce that I will be a no show again tonight (need some sleep ) as my daughter has booked an airport flight for 7am (must be insane for a Sunday morning) and to Sydney too (who would go to that place?)

I suggest we all sign a peace accord, be nice to finbar, work out agreed rules and start a new game for next Sat night. Trev will be in this he said.

Makeo has a nice straight forward approach to the game where anything goes, which was fine 3 years ago but now that we know the game so well we really should have clear and fair understandings.

In that last game that Horse resigned from we had all of us operating on different understandings about AI human civs. Sure, it's best not to have them but if an AI is allowed to run a human civ we need to protect it. It's not a great achievement to knock them out and it stuffs up the time slot for the scheduled players.

I seriously suggest Rah Rules but with no unit bribe as a compromise for Horse. I agree with Dr_eamers post in the other thread about unit bribe but I'll compromise.

Rah's Rules have been intelligently thought out over years of playing and although I'm not entirely happy with a few of them it's a good consensus drawn from the Apolyton culture.

Let's all get off on the right foot and all be nice

I agree with Deity about the need for a new game on Saturday nights, the current game has had different players playing by different rules, and so is no longer a reflection of players abilities

I am easy about what rules are used, we just need to make sure every player uses the same rules next time

I'm getting awesome hut luck the last couple of games. In that duel i got lots of cities and nomads and in a game with Dreamer I got a nomad within three turns as well as a couple of other free cities.

I completely lost track of time last night playing RoN and went bed at 3am

I got into this huge see sawing battle for the Greek capital. I took it a couple of times briefly but lost it again and again. This game can be over in 40 minutes or go on for hours and hours.

Meanwhile the Egyptians got nukes
