the borders look cool, but im still concerned about how they will looks in water. Maybe you could make it look like the flags were on small hills? That way it would look like small islands in the water.

Yes I've checked again and the 'flags' do look kinda silly in the ocean, I've made the base look like a 'bouy' / 'rock' so that it could be ok... I've also made a 'Hover Disk, Spear, Actual Flag, Thug, and Outpost' as attempts... colouring them is another matter...
Ok, Flags aside for a second.. FEEDBACK...
I dont like the 'gaps and 'double-ups on the 'shading' By looking at the diagrams here, tell me.
Diagram A, shows the Gap and the double up.... Diagram B shows one way I could 'smooth' this, but then you get 'cuts' at each grid edge. Diagram C and D show possible solutions.. D2 is another idea where your boarder goes OVER into the next square, since the opposing colour is in the gaps of yours it doesn't affect the graphic...

I agree apart from the skulls it is magnificent but the skulls are ridiculous (no offense the reast is great) I'd stick with normal borders

I've made each of the graphics independant of each other, You can use my borders or the originals, or someone elses, My Terrain matches together, but my units will be 3D and colour, This Mod is designed for 2 reasons, 1. To make my Fantasy Mod, Totally Unique from Civ3, Nothing copied, all Original. and 2. To allow players to Zoom out on the Map screen and Print it for Use in roleplay/Other Games. Hence the B&W style. Looks like Old Parchment, gives you that kind of feel.
I'm going to put up seperate posts downloads, The terrain, The Cities, The Resources and The Borders. So people can pick and choose what they want to use.
