	CMN's Pontifications Remove this text

Due to the appearance today of Nivoxz N as a registered member of yours, the UoP's and the CC's factions, I have removed from your threads (and theirs) any disclosure of the password.

It won't help all that much as he can still access and read screensaves, move and build discussions, etc etc, until such time as we find out how to permanently exclude a registered member.

Today there was a message to Nivoxz N (from HongHu) to bring to the Hive as much info, plans, etc from the other 2 that coiuld be garnered. I didn't know if that was a joke or not, but in any event I have edited that message just to say that belonging to more than 1 faction is against the game rules

I have also e-mailed and PM'd Nivoxz N asking him to choose a faction and remove himself from the 2 not chosen

Just want to say I'm sorry again that this has led to the direction I have never thought about. I thought I was "roleplaying" about the "spy" thing but apparently I should have thought more carefully before I speak. Sorry to let you guys go through all these. Googlie, again the fact I have not said anything about how the game should be played, hopefully this could give you some assurance. But I promise next time when I open my mouth again I will give it a more thorough thought.

(I want to cry now for real this time for having done something that I have never intended. But please keep the fun spirit. Don't let what I did wrong to mess all that up! Here's a smile with tear. If you want me to quit then I would leave so that the game is not spoiled. If you still allow me to be here and request me do not post, I could do that because I still like to see your guys' posts. They have given me immense amount of fun in the past. But I have to take responsibility for something I have done. So I'll do whatever you want me to do, even just to prove my innocence and best intention.

HongHu, am I to understand you invited him (Nivoxz N) to spy (jokingly of course) on the open forum? If this is the case then you may be guilty of stupidity, but not espionage or treason. I thus recommend that you be allowed to continue as a member of the Human Hive, but be barred from nomination to any offical government posts. Futhermore, I also recommend that you be prevented from participating in discussion on the General Forum until you prove yourself trustworthy of being able to post as a representative of the Hive (to be determined by the PAC at a later date). This is the position of the Ministry of Peace. Long live the Glorious Comrade Chairman! Long live the Human Hive!

In the Nivoxz N thread I've said that as far as I am concerned, this "espionage" aspect of the triple registrant is closed. I edited out the invite about 90 minutes after you posted it, so I doubt many people were able to read it (and certainly not NN, who wasn't accredited)

I fully accept your explanation and hope that you do continue to actively participate in the game

To clarify - the invite was made in this Hive Private Forum, and as such, was unread by NN who is awaiting authorization from Chairman Voltaire (which will be denied, I have been assured - or so rule, in any event)

The matter in the General Forum was only re the triple registration of Nivoxz N - no espionage mention was made (and although the question has arisen re the CC and the PUT, the Hive is not implicated)

Might the PAC reconsider it's position re Comrade HongHu in the light of these new facts?

Thank you for the clarification. That does change the situation as HongHu's blunder was private, rather than public. Most of us make mistakes everyonce and a while, and that's allowed. In light of the new information I suggest HongHu beat himself with a wet noodle until he feels sufficiently shamed and then never speak of this again (you should thank People's Advocate Comrade Googlie for acting in your defense).

Given the incident cause no harm, for the time being the CCC feels that there need not be any punishment, private or public, for it would not be in the best interests of the Party and People of the Human Hive. The occurrence of this incident will serve as a lesson for the future to ensure that such mistakes do not occur again.

Last night I had a dream that I couldn't get into the forum because I didn't have the password!!! Oh what a horrible feeling. And I thought that guy was a CyCon! He was spying on us! (How else can you explain him being able to get in without being a Hivian? ) And I thought all the spies are caught! Is the thief crying "catch the thief"? But being a victim that is accused to be the bad guy feels so horrible!

It is OK and understandable to apologize for Tass's actions and posts, but the second paragraph IMO constitutes a similar brach of the "No contact with another faction until in-game meeting - or commlink obtained froma third party"

It is obviously OK within the Hive to discuss the merits of a pact with another faction, but in setting those arguments and inducements forth for the other faction at this point (before meeting) breaches the spirit of the game

(I know it was unintentional, and very generic, and I have suggested in the general thread that it is OK in the various faction newsletters, etc, to float discussions of potential alliances. The point being that everyone can read them, so there is no collusion - the "winds of Chiron" blew the newspaper across planet, to be picked up by ... whomsoever. Or hackers lucked on to an e-news item much like shortwave radio coded transmissions were intercepted by enemy codebreakers in WWII)

Does this mean if we can publicly post encrypted messages to the CyCon we can have dicuss potential alliances?

Assuming ofcourse that we don't PM or email the encryption method between ourselves.

Well according to GooglieGod (at least my understanding) you don't even need any encrypted messages as long as it's in the public forum. But do we really want to act like we are THAT anxious? Especially since we are now at the bottom of the power graph, could somebody interpret this anxiousness to be lack of self-confidence? We want to form alliance but we also want to be valued by our allies don't we?

If you flirt with them they think you are attractive, if you seriously tell them that you need them then they feel you are annoying. Aren't all man like this?

I'd balk at aiming a message to a specific faction before meeting them. But, saying that, in RP'ing - assuming that the Hive wanted to reach the CyCon who they knew were somewhere on Planet, the Hive could embed a message within Pravda - which could be read by all, wherever the "winds of Chiron" blew the newspaper (assuming it'd survive 200 kph winds !!). So an encrypted one I'd think would be verging on "bending the rules"

Or there'd be some itinerant hermits who refused to affiliate with any faction - sorta like the European minstrels of the middle ages - who'd carry the newspaper with them and stumble on another faction's base and thus they'd see Pravda.

Wouldn't have the commlink #, so no head-to-head talk could ensue, nor the co-ordinates of the Hive HQ or bases, but could have an "open letter to all survivors of the UNS Unity" or some such drivel

I guess it could even go as far as to rail against the scientific eggheads who brought about the catastrophe, and appeal to the workers of the Drones and the Pirates to think kindly of their Hive brethren (or vice versa)

But I think the key should be that it could be read by all, thus no encoding and no PMs or e-mails or chat room discussions.

That'd be in the spirit of RP'ing. But to discuss a specific item like a potential pact, or tech lines of research would be counter to the spirit of the game
