	The AD has declared war on us Increase Your PM Length

Has anyone else gotten this message? It contains short terms so I was unable to search. I had fired tons of nukes at my opponent civ, 2 other civs are neutral. I fired one nuke and my battleship just happened to be in the radius (the only thing I can think of that was unique of this situation). Just before the missle launched, the foreign advisor came up and said "The AD has declared war on us!". Who the hell are the AD and why are they in my game? lol. I'm using PTW 1.14f. After checking the foreign screen, one of the neutral countries is now at war at me, but can anyone explain this? I am spain and I am at war with india. China and Korea are neutral, and now china is at war with me (for reference).

Might have been a submarine?

As for the AD part, probably just aanother PTW bug.

PTW 1.29f seems to have fixed this.

If you're Canadian the US patch should work just fine.

Unlike those poor Europeans, we get to ride along the gravy train with the American patches

i dont think you hit a submarine as you probably should have gotten a warning that it would cause war, although i'm not sure since you didnt target them directly, but the blast radius hit them...

i say this because if you try to move a ship over a tile where an AI sub is, even if you cant see it, it will warn you that it will cause war.

that's my guess...

Oh, well to negate that possibilty, no other Civ's have subs yet.

Sorry not trying to be difficult :P. If you guys can't figure it out no biggie I just thought the message was weird.

IMO it was just a spelling error. Being that AD was actually China.

They were just discovering flight and mobile warfare and it was about 1875 AD. It was my first attempt at Regent after spending months trying to perfect Warlord and I completely obliterated the game . Not to brag or anything, just happy that after half a year of studying the game and training I finally was able to move up a difficulty level on the first try.

Congrats.
Want a couple of good ways to advance? We have a democracy game that is being played on deity (unabashed plug as I am the current president and am recruiting), it is a single game where there are many people that are playing it. When the first demo game started, I had trouble winning on monarch. Now, I can usually win on emperor and even have a couple of deity wins under my belt (although I usually get my butt kicked on deity).
Also, in the strategy forum there are a bunch of Apoliton University (AU) classes that are designed to test the AI and help players improve their game. I lurked around there a lot and learned bunches. I would go with the demo game though (more unabashed plugging ).

Hmmmmmm, yeah. I've yet to try out the multiplayer capabilities of civ 3, i'm more of a single player type guy . I don't know if I would be up for that it sound a bit overwhelming lol. I need to play a few more games to find out what my level is at, since I won Regent so easily. Sitting and paying attention in History class gave me alot of good ideas for attack strategies and they worked pretty well. Especially blitzkrieg tactics. Or tons of nukes works well too . I nuked 6 out of 13 Indian cities (my biggest rival) on the first turn of war and then went in and they wanted surrender right away, but no mercy! muahahahaha. I will have to figure out my current skill level first and get comfortable with the multiplayer before I take you up on that offer, but it is much appreciated. Thanks for the congrats . If you search for all posts by me, you'll find a thread where a bunch of ppl were teaching me the not so basic's that helped me to stand on my feet at warlord level . I plan on thanking them all personally as I couldn't have done this without their help. Well enough bragging, chatting etc, ttyl .

chanser69, come hang out in the Strat forum, or join one of the demo teams (especially the PTWDG or the ISDG)... most everyone around here likes helping out.

Edit: And I have no idea what AD is.
