Choosing your colour Remove this text

There is one thing that has been annoying me a bit.

It might not matter much to most people, but my nation's colour is very important to me. One of the things that I care about is the look of my nation, and colour obviously has a big effect on that. Further more, I like using certain colours with certain nations (ie, red with British, blue with French, purple with Mongols, etc).

When I play single player games, selecting my colour can be bothersome because the computer chooses the colours for all its nations before I get to pick mine, and if I try to pick the colour that a computer has, I would have to share control of my empire with the AI.

When there are 7 computers, I only have 1 colour to choose from, and this always seems to be yellow. I hate the colour yellow. Furthermore, it takes time to set up the game because I have to find out what colour the computer is not using by trial-and-error, then having to reset all the AI nations after I finally found the colour that is available.

Is this just something I am having a problem with? If so, what can I do about it to make sure I get the colour I want? If this is a general problem, will it ever get fixed in a patch?

In multiplayer games you can select the colour for the AIs, but of course there is no save feature in multiplay. It would be great if you could assign colours to the computer players in single play games.

Support Apolyton, buy Call to Power 2

The colours i dont like are white, yellow and cyan (and to an extent green). Too light, and borders arent always obvious. White is especially useless on mountain maps.

Got spare money?

When you set up your SP game start with just yourself and 1 Computer opponent on the screen. You can then choose your own colour. After you have done that you can then add more Computer Players to your desired total.

I don't think I'm following you, bratsch. I play SP all the time... usually with 7 AIs as well...and I'm always able to choose whichever color I'd like (green mostly).

I'm at work right now, so I can't look at the exact setup screen, but when you're setting up your SP game, there's the screen with all of the players on the left and the game options on the right. Your nation is listed first. On that line, you have a drop down box to choose your Civ and another drop down box to choose your color (and maybe another drop down, I can't remember).
