How to create a map of Russia? Problems... Support Apolyton, buy Civilization III: Complete

I try to make a map of Russia, but because of the enormous size of the country and it's fairly complex shape and borders, I am finding it IMPOSSIBLE to make any sort of landmass that looks anything like it within the editor...

Any ideas/tips?

Support Apolyton, buy Civilization III: Complete

Up the mapsizes then in the rules.xml. I did, 160 is a LOT bigger than the current maximum.

If you up the mapsize in the rules, can you play the new map on a computer with default map sizes in the rules file or will it crash?
