Spaceballs, the funniest movie ever? Got spare money?

Is Spaceballs the funniest movie ever?

Here are some memorable quotes from the movie:

President Skroob: What's the combination?
Colonel Sandurz: 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5.
President Skroob: 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5?
Colonel Sandurz: Yes.
President Skroob: That's amazing! I've got the same combination on my luggage!

Colonel Sandurz: Prepare ship for light speed!
Dark Helmet: No no no, light speed is too slow!
Colonel Sandurz: Light speed too slow?
Dark Helmet: Yes, we're gonna have to go right to... ludicrous speed!
Colonel Sandurz: Ludicrous speed? Sir, we've never gone that fast before. I don't know if this ship can take it!
Dark Helmet: Whatsa matter, Colonel Sandurz? Chicken?

Colonel Sandurz: It's Mega-Maid! She's gone from suck to blow!

Dark Helmet: What the hell am I looking at? When does this happen in the movie?
Colonel Sandurz: You're looking at now, sir. Everything that happens now is happening now.
Dark Helmet: What happened to then?
Colonel Sandurz: We passed then.
Dark Helmet: When?
Colonel Sandurz: Just now. We're at now now.
Dark Helmet: Go back to then.
Colonel Sandurz: When?
Dark Helmet: Now!
Colonel Sandurz: Now?
Dark Helmet: Now!
Colonel Sandurz: I can't.
Dark Helmet: Why?
Colonel Sandurz: We missed it.
Dark Helmet: When?
Colonel Sandurz: Just now.
Dark Helmet: When will then be now?
Colonel Sandurz: Soon.
Dark Helmet: How soon?
Corporal: Sir!
Dark Helmet: What?
Corporal: We've identified their location!
Dark Helmet: Where?
Corporal: It's the moon of Vega.
Colonel Sandurz: Good work. Set a course and prepare for our arrival!
Dark Helmet: When?
Corporal: Nineteen hundred hours, sir!
Colonel Sandurz: By high noon tomorrow, they will be our prisoners!
Dark Helmet: Who?!

Yogurt: Merchandising, merchandising, where the real money from the movie is made. Spaceballs the T-shirt. Spaceballs the lunchbox. Spaceballs the coloring book. Spaceballs... the flamethrower! Kids love it. And my favorite, Spaceballs the Doll -- me!
[Pulls string]
Doll: May the Schwartz be with you!

[nurse exits]
Dark Helmet: I bet she gives great helmet.

[Playing with his dolls]
Dark Helmet: [In Dark Helmet voice] And now Princess Vespa, I have you in my clutches, to have my wicked way with you, the way I want to. [In Vespa voice] No, no, go away, I hate you! And yet... I find you strangely attractive. [In D.H. voice] Of course you do! Druish princesses are often attracted to money and power, and I have both, and you *know* it! [In V. voice] No, no, leave me alone! [In DH voice] No, kiss me! [V.] No! Stop! [DH] Yes, yes! [V.] Oh, oh, oh! Ohhhh, your helmet is so big!

[After the self-destruction mechanism has been activated]
President Skroob: Sandurz, Sandurz. You got to help me. I don't know what to do. I can't make decisions. I'm a president!

Dark Helmet: Before you die there is something you should know about us, Lone Starr.
Lone Starr: What?
Dark Helmet: I am your father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate.
Lone Starr: What's that make us?
Dark Helmet: Absolutely nothing! Which is what you are about to become.

[Lonestarr and Princess Vespa are about to kiss]
Lone Starr: What the hell was that noise?
Dot Matrix: That was my virgin-alarm. It's programmed to go off before you do!

Suffering from ads?

Ah, I'd actually have to place it above Young Frankenstein and History of the World, but I gotta agree that The Producers and Blazing Saddles rank above it.

Besides, there's also Monty Python and the Meaning of Life, Kentucky Fried Movie, Army of Darkness...

It's pretty funny, but definitely not the funniest. I'd have to put Princess Bride and A Fish Called Wanda about it, say.

I agree with the majority here: very funny, but not the funniest.

And by the way, you missed the best scene of all:

(from memory):

Helmet: Who made that man a gunner?
MA: I did, sir, he's my cousin.
Helmet: Sanders, who is that man?
Sanders: He's an *******, sir.
Helmet: I can see that! But what's his name?
Sanders: That is his name, sir. *******, Major *******.
Helmet: And his cousin?
Gunner: Gunner's Mate, 1st class, Philip A. *******, sir!
Helmet: How many *******s we got on this ship, anyway?
Entire crew: YO!
Helmet: I KNEW it! I'm surrounded by *******s! *lowers visor* KEEP FIRING, *******S!

Btw, the practice fight scene between Clousseau and Kato in "Strikes Back" is hilarious. And when Clousseau tries to get into Dreyfuss' castle then finally gets in disguised as a dentist and pulls the wrong tooth while Dreyfuss is under the laughing gas.

Those 2 scenes are hilarious. But don't forget the scene when Clouseau goes to this house to investigate the kidnapping of the scientist who lived there. He calls all the family together, and starts accusing them of murder. He accidently gets his hand caught in one of those middle ages "iron gloves". He is standing in front of the fire place, which heats up the glove. In a desperate attempt to remove the glove, he ends up swinging the chain and balls around, smashing vases, and accidently knocks a gun down which fires right into some policeman's ass. The whole scene is classic!

Been a while, since I saw the english version of the movie, but in the german version they say: (translated to english, for you non-German speakers outthere )

Yogurt! I HATE Yogurt! Specially with strawberries...

Sorry if Yogurt in english, isn't what I think it is... can anyone enlighten me, if it is what I think it is, or not..? It's thicker than milk, but often it has lots of fruits in it, like strawberry/banana/etc...

yes basically thicker milk. I heard a story that yogurt was created when some mongol horsman had milk in his canteen. The bumpy ride of the horse accross the land and the spoilage of the milk turned it into yogurt.

or something like that.

I like peach and banana/strawberry
