FAM Report: 1225 BC Increase Your PM Length

I'm appointing CiverDan and Nuclear Master FAM deputies; if I can't make a chat, they're authorized to take over.

We currently have contact with 12 of the 23 other civs out there.

Techs we know: Bronze Working, Masonry, Alphabet, Pottery, The Wheel, Warrior Code, Ceremonial Burial, Horseback Riding, Iron Working, Mysticism, Writing, Mathematics, Polytheism

Other techs that we know someone's discovered: Map Making, Philosophy

Our treasury: 127 gold

Civs with workers available this turn: None (Already bought Babylonian worker that was available)

Civs that need Alphabet: Babylon
Civs that need Writing: Babylon
Civs that need Mathematics: Babylon
Civs that need Map Making: Ottomans, Iroquois, Babylon, Japan, Spain, Korea, England
Civs that need Philosophy: Iroquois, Celts, Babylon, Japan, Spain, Korea, England

Our tech situation is slipping slightly, as our income is down and there are no good tech whoring opportunites. Hopefully we'll be able to get Philosophy out of a peace treaty with the Ottomans which we can then sell for MM, but tech may have moved on by then. The good news is, we don't really need Philosophy, nor will we need much of the other ancient techs that are still to be discovered, so it's okay if we fall behind for now; we can wait till the Middle Ages are reached.

Our relations are holding fairly steady; Spain doesn't like us as much for some reason, but that's okay. The Ottomans are annoyed at us, so we won't be ruining any potential alliance there. More civs have Map Making, too, which means more civs to mapwhore to. (Mapwhoring is selling your map every single turn to anyone who will take it, even for 1 gold. Usually most civs will want to buy it, if only for 1 gold, if you uncover even one tile that turn.) Overall, I'd say we're in a decent foreign affairs position considering we're on Deity.

Support Apolyton, pre-order Civilization IV

Is it possible those civs with Phil and MM have more advanced techs we can't see 'cos we don't have Phil?

* MrWhereItsAt can't remember what Phil allows in the game...

Support Apolyton, buy Civilization III: Complete

Map Making is a dead end; Philosophy allows for Republic, but not without Code of Laws, which we would see.

Support Apolyton or Terrorists Win

Cheers. This is added to my part of the Directory, BTW, and I have placed a red NEW! by all the new threads. What do you think of the idea? I'll leave it there until the next new thread comes along, then that/those will have the NEW!, but nothing will stop being new for at least 24 hours.
