Breakin' the baby from her pacifier. Support Apolyton, buy Civilization 2

Put her to bed about 25 minutes ago, and she's still going strong. I'm thinking it'll be about 9:45 EST before she goes to bed. Mom is looking all worried and "should I go in and check on her", but I tell her there's nothing she can do or should do.

And people asked us when she was 4 months old why we put her room at the other end of the house. Because we think ahead, idiots.

Naw, we're OK. Sophie is going to yell until she gets tired of yelling and then she'll fall asleep. All we have to do is turn the TV a little higher and we can't hear her at all.

I'm afraid if I wipe my ass with her pacifier, her mother won't want me anymore.

Suffering from ads?

When they get annoyed, you just have to let them vent. It burns up the energy.

Ian has his bunnies and his mouse (Tutter from Bear in the big blue house) and we leave Discovery Kids or a video on, with the volume real low. That gives him stuff to do while he unwinds, and he almost always crashes out fairly quickly and quietly.

I remember that they made this crud that I was supposed to put on my fingernails so that I'd stop chewing them -- made them taste extremely bitter. Might be worth a try, but fair warning that I still chew my nails as much as ever (I found that if I sucked on my fingers I could get the crud off without hardly tasting it).

Naw, we're not going for anything like that. We just got rid of the things and will have to listen to a couple of days of complaining, if need be. Since she did so well tonight, we might be OK.

And, like I said, we purposely put her at the other end of the house for such moments as these. Turn up the TV and all is well.

I remember something like that too when I was little. My parents were determined to stop me from sucking my thumb so they made me put gloves but I took them off in my sleep

So what should we do about John's baby crying? Gag her mouth w socks or something?

Ian never got into them much, but my daughter did when she was real little, but both of them were real easy to depacify.

Couple of days, for normal times, but some days when she's particularly stressed, she'll want them and whine a little.

Has Sophie got a security blanket or favorite dolly or stuffy toy?

Me too. I used to have a Snoopy toy that I would take everywhere when I was a baby. I used to chew on his nose (which was replaced 3 times) and I hugged him so much and so tightly that his head nearly fell off.

the memories *double sigh*

Got spare money?

I used a pacifier until the age of 4 or 5 (covertly though, like smoking a fag before entering school )

I had two snoopy, but they weren't my favourites ( I'm slightly older, arn't I, we just used to call them teddybears )

I still have many of them, I've given some of them away though )

Welcome to the club!

My daughter never even got used to the pacifier. Goes to sleep on her own after a few minutes. Has to get a fine meal before, though. Just like dad!

Ema wakes up in the middle of the night though and likes to play with mom. Just like dad!
