All city governors:

Do you feel secure with your city garrison?

One defender will keep the barbarians out. Two will protect against a weak attack from a rival. How many do you need to feel safe in this era of Medieval Infantry, Pikeman, and soon - Knights?! (Riders/Ansars)

Do you have nightmares of a Gathering Storm armada landing next to your city? Or of a Neu Demogyptica Medieval Infantry stack coming knocking at your door?

What price will we pay for leaving our lands so poorly defended? What cities can we afford to lose? How many children of Spain must be scared to go wandering in the woods before we act?

If your conscience has been touched by any of these questions...if you have guilt about neglecting the safety of your citizens...if you love Spain - help me defend it!

I ask the governors and leaders of Spain to immediately start a campaign to become the strongest (militarily) civilization in the word!

I care not if you wish peace...I care not if you wish to wage war with our neighbours...I care not if you wish to wage war overseas - none of these scenarios can be realized without a strong military. For peace you must have enough to make your enemies look elsewhere, for local wars you must have a wealth of complementary units, for overseas wars you must additionally have a vast navy. We have none of this.

If you wish to ensure Spain's survival in this new era, you must authorize the creation/restoration of the grand Spanish Army.

I know Pamplona is a sitting duck with one spearman defender and an open corridor in our border that points straight to the city and gives an enemy access to mountains that we would never be able to dislodge them from. But we have a good line of sight and would have plenty of time to prepare... so I'm good

Maybe another question we should be asking ourselves is: are we really prepared, after the upheaval of a palace jump, to dedicate and underdeveloped New Madrid to Wonder building and an underdeveloped Pamplona to unit production?

I think New Madrid should begin that task anew. With 3 luxuries in effect and Pamplona's temple and palace now poised to re-establish the culture borders, maybe that barracks should come first there, and at that point, we can reassess whether the threat is great enough to warrant unit production or rebuild the temple...

We may have to give up our Wonder Build idea in favor of uber-productive Madrid making mil units.

Our current army was mostly built by Madrid. With Madrid, Toledo, and Zaragoza building our core army (and other cities pitching in), we could be well on our way to security in this age.

Toledo is not safe at all at present. We've got a spearman, that's all. Being in the frontier, we'll soon need pikemen and walls.

However, as well ye know, Marshal, I've pledged Toledo to building the military, and I will go into battle with you anywhere to further the banner of Spain and to save our borders. I am sure that, with Feudalism, we can manage to defeat an invasion from Egypt, but we'll need a larger army yet to be able to protect ourselves from Arabia when they get their Ansars.

Barcelona needs a Temple in Madrid to expand its borders and to allow Barcelona to work its #9 tile. Please think on that. Otherwise I will demand Barcelona to build a Temple immediately instead of building galleys

Otherwise, Señor Dejon, yes, we need more defenses and more strong units to build a more credible army. If GS attacks and takes our poorly defended coastal cities, we couldn't survive !

The Zaragozians have recently shown their trust in me at my public birthdayparty, which was recently held at the Forum Augusti, the main forum of Zaragoza, named after the former king Augusto Togas I.

Zaragoza os one of the best defended cities in Spain and is known for its well-trained troops.

I have announced at several meetins that I am currently planning to build regiments of medieval infantry. I will switch to pikemen as soon as our laborers have build two mines in the to the south of the city. These mines will be of great worth to our smiths and craftsmen because they can increase the weapon production by this way.

	Avatar Enlargement: We've got the solution

Seville currently has one Spear and is building another. My concerns for safety of it would be Barbs, sea invasion, and its lux could create a target. However, with 2 pike it will be no problem to keep safe considering its removedness from the rest of the Empire--let's just say it won't be the first thing to go in an all out war.

We need to keep uberarmying, yes, but at whut expense to REX? We've got to fill in the entire damn continent.
