Talking the Patch Down Support Apolyton, buy GURPS/ Alpha Centauri

Sounds to me that they are already "talking down" the patch in the news item. The patch does sound to be about what I though though - significant improvement, not a savior but not a stinker either.

I think this is more of the "we sent the game out pretty crummy, here's a cookie for your patience." When a game makes it to the bargain bin in such short order, it ain't coming back folks unless the patch comes on a CD marked "gold edition."

Full PM-box? Change here!

I believe this patch will solved some problen and the 2nd patch will solved more probllens. I have the game daggerfall
which has more patches than most programmes. There are some accounting and bussien programs written in the 1950'
and early 1960' s which are patches almost on a weekly basely I want read in a bussien magize, just to have then worked on the modern computer we have, these programs would be better it rewriten in more moderm sytle and languages.

Sure Charles, sure. But the point is that if this doesn't save the game, and get some sales and profits going, there WON'T BE ANOTHER PATCH. I don't think MoO3 is going to be one of those games that gets 6 or 7 patches and is then wonderful. It's make or break time really...

It doesn't need to be perfect with this patch, just playable, enjoyable, and "loseable". If they manage that, THEN the playing community might stick around and wait for a third patch. Otherwise we'll all give up on MoO3 and leave it to the Fanbois, and Atari aren't going to employ a dozen programmers for the sake of about 100 diehard Fanbois. This patch is the last hope for MoO3. If this doesn't get general gamers playing it, its DEAD.
