Dissident, I don't like your arguments, and I think they are not correct. First, I think it is cool to be smart, and hip to be square too.

Secondly, femlas can also be technical and computer wise, as they have shown in here for example. As a matter a fact, they have been invading the male dominant areas fast. So not I only condemn you wrong, but I also laugh at your weak performance showing your point is exaclty based on real sources and truth. Shame on you Dissident, Shame on you!

Females also have to worry about their image. While it is more accepted they are smarter than men. It really isn't considered sexy for females to go into computers and mathematics fields.

maybe the ppl leaving are being selfish by not staying in their native country? I think we should all put armed guards at the borders incase doctors try to go somewhere else to earn more money. dirty capitalists.

There are many many countries (such as mine) that overproduce experts which can not find employment because the market here is small or their line of work does not even exist. Like with mechanical engineers, we produce many which is a leftover from commie times when we actually had some industry unlike now when it is all about trade and services.

I have seen arguments here that it is dumb of us to spend money to educate say a doctor and then export him cheaply. Some say that if an expert leaves the country, he should be forced to pay full price of his education back to the state (college education is free here)

In my opinion let people migrate. Good people will find good jobs and they will benefit the economy they came into and hopefully they will maintain economic, educational and other links to their home countries. Many joint-ventures have been started here by returning emigrants.

Closing borders would benefit nobody.

At UofT, the gender ratio in math classes is about 50:50. OTOH, the gender ration in CS classes is about 90:10, so the battle hasn't been won yet.
