Put an end to popups!

The Bible isn't proof of God's existence, because there are other books out there that claim to be divinely inspired. And even if there weren't any other books making that claim, you would still have to prove that the Bible was in fact written by God.

A bad selection of words, due to English being a non-native language for me.

Not literally limited, more like that it's time is more expensive than OFITG's, because 'god' holds more power than OFITG.

Ask yourself whether God would ask you to kill as many people as you can.

Then ask yourself whether you now believe in demons that oppose God.

Nope. God, at least an omnipotent one would have the capacity to make one second last an apparent eternity. Therefore, there is no need for God to ration time.

My answer to the question of why does God not come, the best answer is that he has already done so, even suffering death on a cross. If we do not believe in God after the crucifixion, why would we believe a voice talking to us?

Oddly, this point relates to your other thread. God allows man to make his own decisions, from Free will. God could easily solve all of our problems, but he allows us to make our own mistakes. This is one of the reasons for the existence of a flawed society.

Good question. One argument for the defense of scripture are the prophecies fulfilled, both in the OT and the NT. Another would be the accounts of things that could only be revealed by God, such as the testing of Job.

Such as?

For one thing, Christians + Muslims + Jews = minority of the world population. If your god sends non-believers to hell, then it's the responsobility of that same god to encourage conversions and not of any particular group of nutcases following the said deity.

Of course, the dastard doesn't show itself for the same reason that the invisible and intangible giant dragon in my garage who non-existence you can't prove doesn't.

Last time I checked, invisible giant dragons don't get nailed to crosses.

In the time since then, this particular giant dragon was nailed to a cross. Unfortunately, the cross and nails are also invisible and intangible.

Why can't God work through people and the church?

Because the superpowers ascribed to that God suggest that a reliance on memes to get the point across is rather daft and inefficient.

God seems to like people working out things for themselves. Spreading the word seems to be a part of this as well. BTW, your response says nothing about whether God cannot use the church, admitting only that he may not want to use these methods.

quote:

But he's so big! How would the cross ever fit the dragon. If he's invisible, how did the people catch the dragon in the first place?

Why crucify a dragon? What did the poor beast do?

Who crucified the dragon? When did they do so, and where?

Inquiring minds want to know.

That's popping up and saying "hi?"

I reckon it would be something more along the lines of having every radio and TV station interrupted at the same time, with God appearing on the screen, waving to the viewer, and say, "Hi, I am Yehwah. How're you doin'?"

In fact, I'd rather say that the Bible is a proof of the christian God's non-existence, because we know that some facts in it are not correct (Man wasn't created in 1 day, except for some american fanatics ).
How could the Bible be wrong if it represents God's words ?
