	Act of Union between Mill Limit nations Inflate your Upload Space

As of this moment forth, Marijuania, Stanleystan and Oral FIxation, will be united under one government, called the Federation of Mill Limit Nations, or simply, the Libertarian Federation.

While this government takes over matters of Federal justice and defence, as well as the space programme, everything else, including economies to a great degree, will be left to the consitutuent states, so they can still be regarded as separate nations.

A group of Marijuanian academics is currently preparing the groundwork for a new colony, called New Marijuania, which, upon its foundation, will also join the LF.

All Marijuanian, Stanley, and Orally Fixated sea and space ships will have their registry changed from MSS, SSS and OFSS respectively, to FSS, they shall all share a single currency. The capital of the LF is the capital city of Marijuania; New Amsterdam, though this will cycle every century.

At time of writing, Marijuania has 932 million, Oral Fixation has 591 million, Stanleystan has 264, meaning the LF has 1.787 billion people, increasing at a rate of about 24 million per day, which will increase when we bring in our new colony. A mass exodus of about 35 million people has begun to New Marijuania.

New Marijuania, and its population of over 30 million (growing rapidly) has been added to the Federation of Mill Limit Nations. The exodus of people has ceased, it is now a fully fledged society in its own right, and has been "brought" up to speed by the LF.

A small naval force consisting of the superbattleship MSS Liberty, two smaller battleships, two carriers, 10 heavy cruisers, 15 light cruisers and destroyers, 25 frigates and 50 gunboats, two squadrons of fighters, and a garrison of the army, will remain stationed on the Island, supplimented by the colonies military as it develops. This is to secure to island against possible threats while the nation is still embrionic.

The Federation of Mill Limit nations has just had its first national census, with the following statistics for population for each region:

Marijuania: 962 million
Oral Fixation: 621 million
Stanleystan: 297 million
New Marijuania: 56 million

Giving the Federation of Mill Limit Nations (Libertarian Federation [LF]) a total population of 1936 million!!

We have now overtaken Akiria to become the largest nation in the region, that nation having 1876 million people.

A rather large party will be held in the capital of the LF and Marijuania, New Amsterdam, to which any and all are invited. This will continue in one almighty pub crawl to Oral Fix, Stanleystan, then finally New Marijuania.

Elijah: If you count that as being one nation, surely you must do the same with Akiria and Zetaris. Then not only do we have more population, but with fewer nations. Nevertheless, I still count individual nations as those under on government, and defined by NS as single nations. I would see your group of nations as more together than the EU, but still not a US style system of states with a federal government, which is what it would take for me to call them one nation.

Akiria and Zetaris are separate nations, the only thing linking them that I am aware of is that you are controlling them and that one has a significant amount of military between based in the other.

The LF has a joint foreign policy, it has a joint military, it has a federal government, it has a federal courts and legal system, it has a cooperative education, health and welfare system, and takes a certain amount of the tax revenue from each region, while some remains in that region.

They have separate internal economies, seperate styles of devolved government, partially seperate tax systems, with an amount going to the federal government, an amount going to the devolved government.

All the major instruments of state including military, foreign policy, and most of taxation, is handled by the federal government, it is one nation, it is not a treaty or an international organisation like the EU. The only sovereign nation at work here is the LF.

So they have a federal government (that is not modelled in NS) yet they have significantly different styles of devolved government. Indeed, since the tax rate is low in some of the nations (IIRC) then federal tax cannot be much, unless it is leavened to a different extent on different nations citizens, which would be unfair. They have different flags, which wouldn't generally be the case if they were the same nation.

I still think things have to be based on NS, but if they have a federal government, then they can be considered as the same nation.

FYI, Akiria and Zetaris share a common foreign policy too, as I am the Foreign Minister of Akiria, and the Protector of Zetaris (since Zetaris has little to no military and is protected by Akiria) but they have different governments and domestic policies.

Not significantly different. The differences are due to issues not coming up at the same times, something that is out of my control, and I dont see why that should affect my nations.

The tax has increased, also in Marijuania it is something like 27%. The different flags are state flags, not unlike the cross of st. george and the cross of st.andrew... although new marijuania's is somewhat different .

I dont think we should stick slavishly to NS, that site has many failings, like the inability to merge nations into a federal superstate, and I dont see why we should have to reflect those failings when we RP, after all, that is what RP is for - expanding on the limited information we start off with (in this case, we are seeded by NS), and expanding on that.

Your military is still the Akirian military IIRC, and it would appear that Akiria has only garrisoned Zetaris, the military command is still entirely Akirian?

In my case, all military matters (just using the example of military as it is traditionally the most clear and powerful instrument and definition of state) are beyond the individual nation (Marijuania, Oral, Stan and NM), and are controlled by the federal government. The Marijuanian, Fixated, Stanley and NM militaries, as separate forces, ceased to exist when the union was signed, the militaries are controlled by the federal governments.

If you wish, you can take the military rankings report on NS and use that to work out how much, economically, the constituent regions of the LF contribute to the military.

The period of economic harmonisation, mainly between the nations that are not Marijuania, is complete, and we are devolving full economic control, except for all but income tax, back to the regions.

As such they all have separate currencies, with interest rates being set at the state level instead of the federal level. This is to promote a diverse series of economies, with different specialisations and thus conditions. It is also a jammy way of avoiding economic convergence that would have otherwise been a problem with such a project of integrating four nations as one.
