	Anaphrodisiacs? Put an end to popups!

We' ve all heard of Viagra and its meteoritic success as an aphrodisiac drug.

Does anybody know of anaphrodisiacs - namely, libido-killing drugs? We heard of potassium bromide as a potent sex drive killer - does anybody know if this is effective/commercially available? Ideally, we'd be talking about a drug that is orally administered and which has lasting effects for about a day or two after ingestion.

Any ideas?

Please, serious answers only. This is all for a very non-serious prank that we're hoping to pull soon and if you can get us the information we'll let you know how it turned out.

Many anti-depressants have libido inhibiting side effects, although one would wonder how administering a drug with a potential for interaction/side-effects to someone without their knowledge fits in with the theme of a "non-serious" prank.

I've always wondered about that. Sometimes it bothers me desiring something I cannot have. There are times I wish I could stop being turned on by women. Sometimes I think it's a weakness to be turned on by women, as that feeling can be easily manipulated by scheming women.

I heard chopping off the nuts also cuts libido, I haven't actually tried that one though.

I don't know any drugs that will kill your libido in one ingestion. But many of the "metabolism=increaser" pills kill your libido slowly.

Hmmm...massive amounts of cocaine, psylocibin has varying effects...LSD is pretty offputting, as well as a massive onslaught of booze.

Saltpeter is sodium nitrate...don't know the how/what/why of it though.

AFAIK, Vigara doesn't increase a man's sex drive. It just makes it possible for said person to perform by increasing blood flow in certain areas.

Okay, to clarify. The compound has to be feasibly accessible to a group of grad students. We aim to make the victim believe he has ingested this. We have no intention of actually getting him to ingest it because A) legal problems, and B) it would probably cost some money to get hold of it and as you know grad students are not renowned for their economic outlay.

I know I said "serious suggestions only" but perhaps that was being a bit ambitious. (See my Amazonia thread from two years back to see how such a response only engenders patronizing and 'hilarious' responses.) But if this thread turns up one convincing result then it will have been worth it.

Plus some of the irrelevant answers are highly entertaining so who am I to argue, eh?

My suggestions are serious: let them play computer games and perform stressful mental tasks, couple with lots of late night partying and lack of sleep for several days, then check how much sex drive they still have left.

If you really want to make someone ingesting something, just trust the power of belief. Mix a somewhat unusual coctail, and tell him he (I guess it's about a man) had swallowed an anaphrodisaic. Give it an unusual or medical taste (mint may be a good start). And keep something of the "drug" in case you're getting problems ...

And let us know if you succeeded

Alcohol may work but you'll probably need a lot. I don't know of legal implications in different countries of making someone drunk. I'd guess there is no problem in Germany if you're doing no more forceful than motivating and paying the bill. But this may be different in the UK or US ...
