Not only can you buy American cheese in Shanghai, but Chinese seem to like it. You can even buy it at the local French supermarket!

Chinese don't have a lot of cheese-like things in their cuisine, and they don't go for strong-tasting cheeses, so the nearly flavorless American cheese goes over well, especially for kids.

Ohhhh, what I wouldn't give for a nice wedge of JARLSBERG!

It's all in how you define 'bread'.

If you ask most Americans what the best bread is, they're probably going to leave rolls and buns out of the equation, because they're 'not bread'.

Then you have the assorted bakery breads, but people generally don't think of those either, because they're regarded as special occasion breads, not for everyday use.

That leaves the industrial breads -- pre sliced and plastic wrapped; many of them are very good -- many others aren't. Pepperidge farm loaves are the absolute shiznit -- and I think they have at least ten varieties at the local A&P all by themselves. Add to that Stroemann's, Freihoffer's, Arnold Bakeries, and a host of other producers, and you'll end up with a lot more than thirty varieties.

I love cheese, even American cheese. Damned shame I'm allergic to modl and can't have blue cheeses. I don't know about cheees like brie which have a white mold.

My guess, would be the 70's Motown remake of the Wizard of Oz, which was called the Wiz. A smart person is a Wizard at Math because it seems magical the way he does it.

I only eat deli cheese, and the Aerican cheese there is very good, specially for sandwiches, or melted over a nice corn tortilla.

I love all cheese except cheeses with mold, and processed cheese foods (velvetta...UGHHH)

I like the slimy, crumbly white cheese which they make in the former Yuogoslavia. Especially when they make a salad with it and tomatos, cucumbers, & onions.
