Today the international politics are moving fast. During the last centuries was a war between Persia and Egypt, which seemed to keep on going for several decades. Today, havever, Nimitz from Legoland informed us that a peacetreaty has been signed between Persia and Egypt and there is no war anymore. Perhaps tomorrow it will be even different.
The present situation announces a problem that we discussed before: the possibility of GS to attack us. Now that they have peace with Vox, it would benefit them well to attack us. We have a weaker military than they have and their army costs a lot each turn.
The dilemma we are facing now is whether we will concentrate on building settlers, to continue the Rapid Expansion policy or concentrate on the production of military units to strengthen our military to be able to defend our current land against an invasion.
Concentrating on military production is chort term and might be unnessecary on the long term: it is very well possible that GS won't attack us and increased military production only harms our long term development.
Concentrating on the production of settlers is a long term strategy and will benefit us most on the long term, but is on the churt term risky because of the threat of an attack.
The third strategy is a mix between the two and demands a strict coordination: certain cities concentrate only on settler production, others concentrate on military production only. The result of this strategy is that we expand slower, but are better prepared against an attack from GS (but of course also from ND). We wil build up our military but in a slower way than with strategy 1.
Which strategy do you prefer and, if you prefer strategy 3, do you want to let your city build military units or settlers?
I have not included the building of cityimprovements in this strategy-overview because it can be implemented in all of the strategies.
