	Itīs all about...umm...burgers??? Support Apolyton, buy Civilization: The Boardgame

Heard it today in the news - but couldnīt find an online source for it:

"First Burger King restaurant opens in Baghdad."

Is this true? Anybody else heard it?

If it is true, it explains everything. The war wasnīt about WMD or oil, it was about BURGERS! You must bear in mind that the region is of strategic interest for the military-fast food complex.

terrible. tons of people dont even have clean drinking water but they have a burger king... capitalism should be used to imrpove quality of life, not the quantity of consumption

Well to be fair, there has to be clean water at Burger King.

And BTW, not even all the drinking water in Russia is clean. Iraq has a long way to go.

That is just a conspiracy theory. Truth is that this was just to save it from looting until the Iraqis can deal with their sand without foreign help

At least it's not a McDonalds. While I was away at uni, my local McD's was shut down for a week or so when someone caught herpes from one of the burgers.

Or so the rumours go.

McDonald's is many things but there restaurants are always super clean. If a franchisee doesn't make the cleanliness grade then he can lose his entire franchise; an investment of several hundred thousand dollars.

No, I've said before the war that Bush is really after the sand. He plans to use it to rebuild America's beaches after the global warming floods.

Does Burger King have restaurants in israel? i always though they didn't, as to claim the Arab market and not suffer from boycotts. BUt maybe I just heard wrong. Anyone know?

Great, now EVERYONE in the world will get fat.
But, isn't Iraq generally Islamic? And wouldn't that prevent most people from eating hamburgers (made of beef)?

Now, if it was a McDs, then things would be different. It's not like they actually serve beef

they can eat beef , no pig , .....

if you can have a kosher hamburger or vegie restaurant you can have one for the muslims also , ....
