I get around AU $15 an hour at my casual job.
I also had a job at a computer shop, but the pay worked out to less than AU $3.5 an hour. Needless to say that after I found out my pay rate, I didn't come back for a second week.

Depending on what he's doing £5.35 is bugger all. You'd get £7-10 an hour as an office temp in Reading, even as a student. £5.35 is part time shop assistant money.

£2 an hour more is a pint an hours difference. Good luck to you if you can drink 8 pints a day and get up at 6:35.

The reason Bod's isn't paying tax (NIC) is that he is either

1) Defrauding the tax system
2) Lying about not paying tax
3) Or not earning as much as he claims

Well, he will be paying National Insurance... but he can get exemption from paying Income Tax (and then claiming it back!) providing he doesn't subsequently exceed the personal allowance.

I cannot remember the minimum wage in Illinois, but Iowa's minimum wage is $5.15 an hour.

Anyway, I work at the Rock Island Arsenal, which is located on the Illinois side of the river. I get paid $11.01 an hour but I have to quit the job in late July since it's temporary. I work as an office assistant.

But that's nothing. Before we had a minimum wage here, when I was 17 and still at school I was working part time as a shop assistant in a supermarket, the lowest of the low and I got £3.75, that was nearly 10 years ago!

You'd need to earn more than £8 p/h in Reading to make it equivilent to what Bodds gets tho , since the cost of everything (well, mainly accomodation) is sky high there.

Ah Yes, living with folks, no problem there.

I have a couple of reletives that have actually just gone to live there tho after finding work, they have a small 1 bed flat in an average district at £600 a month!
Things are crazy expensive down south
