Welcome aboard Octavian!!!
Let's see if I can summarize:
* GS warmongers were not paranoid enough in the beginning (except Frater Ralphus!!)
* Vox betrayed a treaty, tricked us with a false landing on Bob, and WHOA all of a sudden there are hordes of Immortals coming down the mountains.
* GS goes into overdrive, and through some of the best playing I have ever seen (and I'm mostly complimenting every one else on the team  ), we repelled the invaders.
* Arrian, with help, devised a dramatic counter-attack, Inchon / Inchoff.
* In desperation, Beta of Vox pulled a morally questionable / offensive diplo trick, secretly communicating with the other teams to play headgames on us and in a last bid for Vox' survival.
* Although many of GS were so offended that they considered resigning, we came together in our somewhat messy and democratic way, and have engineered a reversal of the diplo situation, the end of Vox (I think... I'm still catching up), and Beta's sincere apologies.
WHEW!!! 
Uh, and we've reached the beginning of the Medieval Age.

Welcome to the GS Octavian.
I hope you enjoy your stay at the royal palace. (btw, what's with that, did we any upgrades for it?)
Theseus recap sums up the most of it, I'll just, as part of the diplomatic corps, that we have been off-guard, and not paying enough attention to the great responsibility we took upon ourselves being the team's ambassadors- but this has changed dramatically over the last week or so, and the diplomatic front is springing back to life, with a renewed reciprocal GS-world and world-GS interest
I invite you to join us- as there is always alot of work at hand, and little time and people...
Once again, Welcome.
Oh, and, don't forget to hang your personal real life at the entrance.
You should follow the example of our trooper Theseus, who was called to duty, from his bed at a late night hour, to help the brave men and women of this nation to prepare the battle plans for the defence against the enemy. And you didn't hear him whine.
