	Science Trouble Support Apolyton or Terrorists Win

I just noticed that from Turn 68 on, we're researching CoL and not HBR.
In the Science Overview in the Area X thread, and in the Turn 67 thread, it was stated to research HBR next.

We currently have a deal with GCA to provide them with HBR. I'm not sure how quick we can discover HBR ourselves, now that we need some gold as well.
Relying on CFC for HBR is not a good idea - these sort of tech deals will get you in the end (I've seen it with Lux Invicta).

I also think a few Horsemen could scare away unwanted visitors.

Please explain this!

• CFC does not have HBR.

Yes, we are taking a chance on CFC providing it to us, but I think is is a good chance as it puts us that much closer to The Republic.

I think Togas, nye and myself were willing to take this chance when nye asked Togas to confim CoL as the next research goal and both Togas and myself confirmed.

As we do not have a time limit on this trade with GCA, it is not imperative That we go for HBR before CoL. I think it is a very reasonable choice to go after CoL and then see if CFC (or someone else???) can come up with HBR. CFC is very interested in getting our WM, so I do not think they will lag on the deal.

I hope that takes care of your concerns.

What are we going to give CFC in return for HBR?

I know it doesn't sound good, but we plan on giving them MM. The deal is actually Math and HBR for MM, but we will get Math from CDG. So, I was thinking we could ask for future tech consideration to make up the difference. Perhaps consideration for Currency or Construction; or they could give us some gold.

Let me get this straight. We offered CFC to give them MapMaking for Horseback Riding plus Mathematics, which we're already getting from another source ..?

At the time we were not certain CDG was actually researching anything. Remeber when we caught them at 0% research when we built the Embassy?

So we had to make back-up plans.

I think it was discussed mainly in chat, F-P. I know you don't have a lot of time to just idle there unitil we decide to discuss something, but things like that happen.

The information was, however, posted in the forum. But we did not put it up for debate. Not every isue that is to be decided by Minister's or Consuls is going to be put up for debate either, it is prohibitive, timewise.
