Kishka's military advisor entered the room. "Great Kishka!"
"What is it?"
"The Tatars have once again defeated our military and massacared our people trying to settle to the east."
Kishka was seething inside, but he tried not to show it. "Well, darn."
Then, the Science minister walked in the room slowly, as if he was injured.
Kishka was concerned. "What's wrong? Are you injured? Did you walk here all the way from Kherson?"
"There was an accident on my journey here, Great Leader. My horse was galloping full speed down the road on my way here. Unseen to me was a tree branch that had fallen onto the path. The horse didn't see it either, and ran into it at full speed. One of the branches was very sharp and pointing straight at the horse. The horse was impaled by the branch. So, then I had to..."
Suddenly the military advisor interrupted him. "A-HA! I got it!"
"What are you talking about?" said Kishka and the science advisor in unicen.
"That's how we can defeat the Tatars. Give are soldiers big and long sticks with sharp stones on the end, so they can impale the Tatar horses before they can reach our troops."
"Interesting," said Kishka.

Also increase the navy from tiny to small, to help protect our merchant trading ships and to help expansion.

Byzantiums expand rapidly in Turkey, due to thier new Copper metal and disbandonment of half thier army. As their settlers go further in, more and more refugees are taken in, teling more tales of the horrific war at the edge of the world.
Kievan soldiers establish frontline against Tartars, using thier Spearmen to force them out of villages and small towns. The Tartars continue to raid back lines of the Kievans.
Trading among various tribes along the Baltic, Novgorod discovers the small flourishing nation of Denmark. Currently, though, they are fighting a battle for survival against the various Teuton tribes.
Assyrian and Badabian front stalls, as neither side is able to best the other enough to advance. This slow warfare is destroying viable farmland all across southern Assyria and northern Badab (economy lowered by one level).
Caecina expands faster as disease subsides and copper is discovered in the Himalayas. But, as they reach into the west, near Persia, hundred dead Caecinians are found along the trail. Many suspect Persian involvement.
As Badab expands west, they meet with a indigenous and isolated people calling themselves Israeli's.
Chicago sacked!! Being under a copper age siege for years, Chicago finally fell to the oncoming armies under the command of General Green. In the North, another strike from General Driver has forced the Bears into a tiny enclave of land.
Independant Iroqious Nation established as Vinnish armies return home after peace was signed.
Zulus totally take South Africa. The vicious warriors destroy any sign of the ancient civilization, and have re-centered society around war.
Incas attack over-extended Lustrians! Incan warriors incurse into the lightly defended, newly claimed Central Andes.

OOC: I suddenly have copper? But I am not at copper age??? Why? Originally, I have started an expedition to steal copper from the ASSYRIANS. I havenīt reached them yet, so I shouldnīt have the metal. But I wonīt complain, since itīs good for me that way

"Bring me the slave!"
"Sure, High Priest". The gates of the great hall in the HPīs palace slowly opened, and about twenty warriors marched in, escorting a tall and strong man. That barbarian looked awesome. The long black hair partially covered his face, which was studded with several scars. His brown eyes seemed to burn diabolically, giving him a truly savage look.
"He carried these... weapons.", said one of the warriors, putting two shiny copper swords on a tablet which was then brought to the high priest.
"Amazing. Really amazing. Looks as if we discovered the Spartan secrets at the edge of the world!". The high priest laughed. "Can we reproduce them?"
"Blessed leader! There are rumors that the shiny material comes from a special stone type, which has to be heatened. Some of our craftsmen claim to have melted some 'Kappor' stones and then have made knives out of it. We will see if itīs true."
"Very well. Copy these weapons! And... sell that barbarian slave to the Kievans... Theyīll have some fun with him..."
Orders
- Introduce Copper Age
- Upgrade Army. The new copper weapons initiate a real boom in military efficiency. The minor Turkish tribes are conquered easily, and more and more men want to take part in that process.
- Found new settlements along the Turkish coasts. Both North and South!
- Send an armed expedition to Sicily (found Syracuse), and another one to Cyprus (found Idalion)
- Press into Turkey even further. Find the Assyrians!

Kishka was happy. Things were running well in his lands. The economy was good, relations with their powerful neighbors to the south were pleasant, expansion was continuing steadily, and the army was stopping most of the Tatar raids.
"Great Leader!"
Kishka immediately turned to the guard at the entrance to the Hall of the Great Leader whom had called for his attention.
"Several merchants wish to speak to you about the amazing events that occured to them on their latest journey to Byzantium," announced the guard.
"Let them enter."
Four merchants entered the room, followed by several dozen armed men hauling one large box and one giant man.
Kishka was clearly puzzled. "What is this?" he demanded.
The tallest and most well-dressed merchant, apparently the leader of the four, began to speak. "On our latest travels to Byzantium, we were contacted by the Byzantine government. They wanted to sell these two things to Kiev, and we purchased them on your behalf."
"Please continue."
"This tall man here is a barbarian that the Byzantines captured. But what's more interesting is what the barbarian had in his posession at the time of his capture. The Byzantines sold us copies of the weapons he was carrying." And with that, the other three merchants opened the box that the merchants brought in along with the barbarian. Inside the box were weapons made of copper. When the merchants presented the weapons to Kishka, he was amazed.
"I've never seen anything like them. With these, we can beat back the Tatars for sure... but how do we make them?"
"The Byzantines told us that they are made out a mineral mined from the ground called 'Kopper' or 'Copper' or 'Keuper', or something like that anyways. We believe that the barbarian knows how to manufacture them, and we can probably purchase them from the Byzantines as well." The merchant continued, "We would like to give to our Great Leader Kishka the barbarian and the weapons."
"I am very pleased by your work," said Kishka. "Grand Economic Leader, please repay the merchants the price that they paid the Byzantines for the barbarian and the weapons. Guards, go with the Grand Military Leader and the Grand Scientist to 'convince' the barbarian to share the method for making the copper weapons."

Continue to guard against Tatar incursions.
Develop the new Copper weapons, and then train our army to use them.
