I suppose it's time to start discussing the structure of our team, so as we don't exist in complete anarchy...

As we are such a small team, I think a very informal structure will be acceptable. I was thinking something along the lines of:

-2 turn players: leader, and vice-leader.
-A labor minister, a military commander, and a foreign minister. These ministers will be responsible for giving the "official" orders.
-Everyone has equal say; ministers and leaders don't really outrank anyone, they are just responsible for keeping things orderly.

Some suggestions for titles...

Leader = Great Gourmand / The Big Cheese
Vice-Leader = Soux Chef of State
Labor Leader = Master Chef /
Military Leader = Chief Forager / The Whopper
Foreign Affairs = uhh... I got nothin'

Anyway, how does everyone else feel about this?

I think we are so small - we have the positions described above, but except for turn players, there are no "official" orders. Just these people lead the discussion in their relivent fields. There are no elections either. When someone wants to step up (or down) we simply have a vote of confidence. Often, I can see it as just a friendly posting... something like:

HI - GK here, I am no longer going to do Military things, Aeson said he would take over. Any objections?

Something like that. We have less then 10 people IIRC, so no need for any real formality I would guess.

I agree, we probably won't need much more than discussion leaders. They should be discussion leaders responsible for posting and updating a master plan, however. The only positions that I think need to be formalized right now are the turnplayers and the Foreign Affairs Minister.

Question: Should we try to have ambassadors to each team?

Got spare money?

Well, we at the very least need to give Panzer and few turnplayer's names and addresses.

I'll volunteer to be a turnplayer; I may be unavailable some weekends, especially saturdays, but otherwise can check in fairly regularly.

For right now I'd prefer to just watch and give my opinions on direction rather than lead a discussion or be a turnplayer. Perhaps in the future when I have more democracy game experience under my belt, then I'll try leading one. Thanks.

It probably wouldn't take much to start a discussion; you just look at the save, say "let's move units here, here, and here" and let the debate ensue. But it looks to me like most of our members are active (unlike PTWDG and especially SPDG), so I don't think we'll have a problem. And I was just throwing out an idea; thinking about it, it would be easy for anyone to post initial plans to debate over, so there's no reason to formalize those positions... I do still think we need to either create a formal FAM position or create formal ambassdorships as we meet teams.

Also, we are now the ONLY one to not have given Panzer e-mail addresses, so let's hurry up. I assume Zargon will be on the list as leader, and I'll sign up too unless we're drowned in turnplayers. Anyone else?

Enter the AD-FREE zone

I'm going to go ahead and give Panzer myself and Kloreep's addresses to start with. If anyone else wishes to volunteer to be a turn player, just shout!
