Yep, SNES games are great

I strongly advise you to avoid street-fighter-likes, because they suck when being played on keyboard.

SNES remains the top-notch console when t comes to Japanese Role-Playing-Games, like Final Fantasy. No other console offers as much choice, and the quality of a few titles has never been equaled since (FF6, Chrono Trigger).

Enjoy your stay in the SNES world. It rocks

SNES Civ was got me hooked on Civ. After playing it, I went out and got my own computer so I could play it right.

SNES was the best.

Avatar Enlargement: We've got the solution

wow Ming... SNES Civ got you into the Civ World? That's strange!

SNES was a good system... here are my faves:

Super Mario World -- the last good Mario game
Super C -- 2d Contra action!!
TMNT: Turtles in Time -- classic arcade action
Super Bomberman!
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past -- The last good Zelda game
Super Metroid -- The last good Metroid game
Super Baseball Simulator 1.000 -- 160 game season!
UN Squadron --- ::drooling::
Yoshi's Island -- fun, but not as good as classic Mario
Super Mario Kart -- great game, although N64 version was better...
Rampart -- RTS on console...
King Arthur's World -- RTS side scrolling... BURNING GUYS WITH HOT OIL IS SO FUN

I'm sure there's more, but these are some of the cool games I used to play...

Got spare money?

I wouldn't know about SNES Civ...but SNES Sim City was great. Ditto for Super Soccer, Street Fighter II Turbo, Super Mario Kart, and well... a whole bunch of RPGs too long to list here.

Yes... strange indeed. Rah and I used to trade records on SNES games... When we found Civ, there were a lot of different type of records we could shoot for. I was looking on the Net for any site that might have a few tips, and saw that it was not only a SNES game, but a computer game. After reading some of the forums, I went out and bought a computer. I've never played a SNES since then... gave the console to my daughter.

Well, you play a soldier from the 'Pacific Federation' if I remember correctly, and in the game you re-enter from orbit to attack the enemies' 'anti-aircraft base in the alps', before going on to attack the enemy capital, which has a European look about it. The clincher is the EU flag in the room where you fight one of the pre-last boss bosses.

Can't believe I remember all that stuff, but it was a great game.

Put an end to popups!

Like Ming, I, too, first experienced Civ on an SNES console. It hooked me, infuriated me (I probably spent $120 buying new carts after having fits and damaging the old carts) and eventually led to my purchase of Civ II for the Macintosh, which I play to this very day.

Another SNES game that has since transcended into *legend* was Chrono Trigger. God, that RPG rocked and rolled and had a unique and awesome premise (time travel to save a world from an out-of-this-world enemy). I now play CT on my PS1, along with its sequel, Chrono Cross, and am hoping rumors of a third Chrono game bear fruit soon!

Gets kinda tough later on...ah, well. Lotta good games, though -- what I particularly like is being able to play translated Japanese games on my emulator. Good stuff.
