	Barcoding introduced to Sheepsta Put an end to popups!

Sheepstan President, Field Marshall Philip Dunning, has announced a plan to barcode all Sheepstan citizens with implanted chips to enable to track their movements.

This will be used for a number of purposes namely to continue new measures to curb what can only be called a growing crime rate.

Not only has this meassure been introduced, but it has been applauded by members of the National Socialist Party of Sheepsta, the only legal political faction.


Other measures recently adopted were to censor violence from television replacing it with racist television mainly cultivating a deep hatred from Alecrast many Sheepstans already posses.


An offical from the Ministry of Public Information and Enlightment has acertained that the Field Marshall has prven insturmental in the implementation of such programs. These programs build the national consious and although we are not militarily strong opposed to other regional powers, we are capable of defending ourselves.

I think he is just refering to that NationStates issue, where one of the choices is to barcode the citizens in order to keep track of their movements.

(The other two are to build a system of surveillance camerar or to not build said system)

My 'implanted chips' are just taking the thing a little fither. Think of them as small computer chips, not unlike ID cards implanted under the skin.

I cannot say anything else for national security reasons.

Actually, the NS issue has the option of a national ID Card and barcoding, and when you pick that option, it says "citizens are barcoded to keep track of their movements".

My problem is with unspecified uber technolgy.

You could implement a thing like that incrementally, and at great expense by deploying people to every hospital in the country and implanting all the new births.

To get older people, you could have dentists or doctors implant them at routine check-ups.

I still think it's ubertech, though.

Yes, it is not ubertech like military, it is something to RP around what NS states. Come on guys, its easily possible today, having a barcode on a chip just udner someones skin. Just because he may not know how to do it, doesn't mean someone doesn't. Moreover, we don't need to on Earth, as we have no plans to. Since they wish to, they develop different things. They might not have the same spec home PCs and the like, but have concentrated on barcoding and other tech. It doesn't have to be exactly the same as Earth, just close to and not massivly advantageous above anyone else. Please be liberal and not picky about everything. Yes a faster than light space ship is ubertech, but if barcoding is, a manned mission to mars is too, as UR and elijah have planned. However both are not massively over, if at all. If they wanted to do that, with 10 years development, they could well have, it is just in Earth, we didn't place such a high priority on it. Ubertech is stuff that is way out there, not stuff that might be a couple of years away on earth, and that with a higher priority, could have been done.
