The problem is, it wasn't a hoax, it was a mistake. One of their employees mistakenly posted the stats for the new G5's. Apple have admitted this, why can't you?
Whether or not you or anyone else knew what the configurations were going to be before the leaked specs were posted is besides the point. The specs were leaked by being inadvertently posted on Apple's web site and Apple has admitted this. This was not the work of a hacker or photoshopper. If it were Apple wouldn't have said that it was their fault and it wouldn't have appeared on their own store page.
Anyone can read your posts and see for themselves that the facts contradict what you say.
And the facts are these:
1) The leaked G5 specs were accurate.
and
2) The accurate G5 specs were leaked on Apple's own web store site because of an internal "mistake' by an employee.
3) The pictures shown around the web are just captures of the Apple Store Page made by someone who visited it during the hour or so when the leaked specs were up.
Stop being pathetic.

What else is one supposed to do when confronted with such ridiculousness?

No it was not. It was a capture of Apple's own web store site. At the time you could get various captures of it. I saw some of them, but Apple asked for them to be removed.
Here's eweek on the subject.
quote: The Apple Store page was quickly pulled down, but not before screenshots and specifications were picked up by sites across the Mac Web, including MacMinute, MacCentral and MacRumors. The version of the specifications listed on MacRumors was "removed per the request of Apple" within a few hours of posting, and Apple Legal demanded MacMinute remove the image it posted. |
That is what that picture is. There's no reason to think that it, or any of the others are fake. And every reason to think they are genuine given the press and Apple's response.
Now either you can't read or you are so hell bent on not admitting that you were wrong about such a trivial matter that you can't bring yourself to admit it. Please don't torment me or anyone else interested in the issue because of it.
