	Patch 1.02 – Bug Killed My Game Before It Started Support Apolyton, buy Call to Power 2

This is more than irritating. I took the time to load the patch (on my pokey modem), unzipped and loaded. Fine so far. Then I start a game. The first turn my galaxy screen scrolls out-of-control to the bottom of the screen and I can’t go ‘up’ again. I can go left and right, but not up. I restarted 3 times and the same thing happened.

Looks like Moo3 is shelfware after all.

Have you tried to uninstall MOO3 and then apply the patch to a fresh reinstall of the game?
AFAIK it solved the Problems of a couple of people who had problems with the patch.

I do believe that the current patch is only Beta, I might be mistaken. So why not wait until the "real deal" comes out. (Sorry about the cliche, could not resist)

I uninstalled and reinstalled and the problem returned.

I didn't know the patch was beta. I am almost beyond caring.

Do the Installer Check program, and see if all the files are all right. Did you copy the Music folder on the disk, so the disk will not run playing the music?

About any directory will do, but it belongs in the other path than where graphics.mob is. I forget the name of it.
It is covered on other forums.

One thing about MOO 3, is the graphics files that were modded by players and one can download, don't care where they are.
Perhaps, your mouse is locking up somehow, and one can always use the keyboard commands.

I never have had a problem with the game, except by trying to use the mouse wheel. I accidently click it, and a pop-up program from the mouse for the Internet would pop-up in Windows behind the game. I started using the keyboard to zoom in and out, using the minus and equals keys, and no more problem, until I find that program, if I find it.

I have the same problum in other game, it turn out that my mouse was dieing so I have to buy than optical mouse. It that to the point where I couldnot move the mouse at all.

His problem could be hardware/driver. I'd try the uninstall/reinstall fix. Haven't heard of this problem anywhere else. Could be a select few, there are a wide variety of systems with a wide variety of configurations.

I haven't had this problem with the beta patch. I didn't uninstall / reinstall before applying the patch. I hadn't applied any mods except the encyclopedia mod.

Prepatch, I did have the same problem after I modded one of the files with a programmer quality text editor (MultiEdit 8.0j). This editor doesn't do anything behind the scenes to the files, so I know it didn't apply any hidden word processing formatting.

So, I think the problem with his game is one of the mods applied before the patch. I think that is the problem that causes most people to uninstall / reinstall before applying the patch. There might be some wierdness about opening modded txt files, maybe checksums or something.

Thanks for the advice, gents. I tried 'one more time' and there was no permanent-scroll-to-the-bottom. I have no idea what was different and, since this seems to be random error/bug, I hope it doesn't return. I do not, however, rule out user error.

The problen I have with the mouse effect other programing and games and at one point the mouse didnot work when computer boot itself up.
