I don't particularly like touching or being touched by anyone. I always stay at the outskirts of social gatherings and usually shy away when people get too close.

Basically, there are four people I'm comfortable touching. These are my four closest friends. Two of them are male (one is a brother), two of them are female (and one of the females I'm romantically involved with), so there's really no distinction between the sexes for me.

I'm not even comfortable when my mother hugs me.

I guess I probably wouldn't mind an attractive person hugging me though.

Rogan - oddly enough - I feel the same way. Sex, though enjoyable, is really icky.

Rogan, you'd better never meet me then. I am a shake-hands fanatic, to the point that I don't consider shaking hands to be touching someone else at all. I shake hands with acquaintances or unknown people indiscriminately, every time I say hello or goodbye.

I don't shake hands with female acquaintance, I rather kiss them on the cheek (4 times, that's the Breton way ! ). However, the German lifestyle took its toll on the subject, since the Germans simply don't greet them by kissing on the cheek. I've lost some kissing power

It wasn't sarcasm.

The first post was hyperbole - exageration for effect. I don't really get nervous around my wife ( ), by I still don't like being touched by her. (Although I would never tell her this, as she definitely likes to be hugged and things, and I dutifully do my duty).
