What do we do... Discuss... I have to leave quick but I will come back later this evening.

I think it's fairly good, with one luxury, wheat and fresh water. I think we should settle there and send our worker on the wheat.

What do you guys think?

We are in the southern part of the globe, so most of our expansion (if any ) will go north...

Kon - agreed. A good start and I agree with your proposal. Looks like we may be on a straight of land - which is not optimal - but I for one do not like spending 10 turns looking for a better spot.

And we have forest - which is nice. And a beautiful lake to wash and pee in.

Its a pity we start on a bonus tile, but to move anywhere else would be a disadvantage.

Hmm..

Only the French can do Math .. if we want a unique tech ..this would be our best guess.

Horses are the most valuable resource in ancient age. Without them we only have a 1 tile move attack.
So .. Wheel ?

But... I dont care ... first techis always a gamble

BW allows Num Mercs which guarantees ancient era survival, IMHO.

That being said - I agree it is not unique - but it is important.

There is only 1 scientific civ, we can gamble that we dont share the continent with them & go for bronze working.

Like I said.. first techs are always a gamble.

If we choose Math, we can use the 40 turn minimum science to get it cheap, and build our bank at the same time. (ie we dont have to get every beaker for it, as the maximium it can take is 40 turns)

But... I dont mind.. if we set for Bronze, thats OK too.

I think we should go for BW, as it gives us the key to our survival. We can then do maths@40 turns for a future trade.

I will play the turn and send it to Team Latin Lover.

I will name our capital Bananapolis, but we can always change if we have some suggestions. Btw, we should open a new thread with name suggestions...

We will get BW in 24 turns while making no profit at all. This will change however as our capital will grow...

I have set Bananapolis to build warrior (done in 5 turns), but I assume that was a no-brainer...

Heck, yeah, go for Bronze Working. We monkeys have to compete with these wretched Cro-Magnons who keep sprouting up out of nowhere.

I understand they've killed all the smiledons. Can you imagine? These moronic quasi-intelligent bipeds have wiped the whole race out. Lordy. It'll be us monkeys next unless we 1) drop grubs on their heads with a trap door or 2) develop Bronze Working and poke them with spears whenever they get too close.

I was also thinking it may have been worth it to move the settler one tile to the SE before stling the capitol. We would not have used an enhanced tile, and we would still get the wheta stalk with expansion.

On the flip side - it moves the capitol one tile south - which I don't think is good for the overall layout. It also delays our access to the what tile, which could be critical over the early days. And finally - I like the defnsive position where we are.
