I remember a while back her mother was upset at all the nude images of Allyssa on the internet. That's what happens when you do a lot of nude scenes unfortunately for her. Her mom was on the news and such saying how wrong it was for Allyssa's pictures to be spread like that.

In any case, it was nice to see. That was the only reason I watched the tv show: Who's the Boss, when I was a kid. I was about her age- well I still am.

Her mother didn't have a problem with the nude images. The problem was Alyssa wasn't making any money off of them.

I don't think there's anything wrong with nudity in movies and it's often important. In Monster's Ball the characters had very raw emotions and it was appropriate to have a very raw, exposed love scene. I voted more respect for someone who will do it just because it's stupid to refuse to do something if it goes with the story and is done in the right mood.

- If an actress does a nude scene, just because she thinks she get more respected for doing it, I have no respect for
- If an actress refuses doing a nude scene, (For other reasons than she's not a looker) I don't have much respect for them anymore (I don't see anything wrong being nude... I'm a nudist)
- If an actress does a nude scene, because she likes being nude , thumbs up for them




Sex scenes are a completely different matter...

I haven't seen the film. As I said, though, I haven't seen any nudity scene that cannot be expressed without the nudity without missing what the scene is trying to convey.

well you could angle the camera shots in monster's ball in such a way to not show any private parts- though it would still be a sex scene. And having that movie with no sex would be just no movie . The movie isn't gratuitous about it, but it is about them falling in love. But love doesn't fully explain it. In Halle's case- she just wanted to feel good as she said. She was a single mom struggling to raise a child, and she just wanted to feel good. So including the sex scenes seemed pretty important for that movie.

I'm not sure if UR has a problem with sex- or just nudity.

yes you could do movies without any nudity- but why?

My problem is with having nudity and/or sex scenes in a film to sell it instead of having them demanded by the story itself.

Since I haven't seen any story that cannot be expressed without nudity and/or sex scenes, therefore I object to them in movies.

do you object to special effects in movies that can be without them? Why is nudity considered something to be avoided? You come with the predisposition that "Oh well, I guess we exhausted all methods to do this movie without nudity so we should have nudity in it"? Why is sort of a last resort? People are sometimes naked. There is nothing wrong with that. There is nothing wrong with showing that, either.

You have to agree though there are a lot of gratuitous sex/nudity scenes in movies.
