Ok, there she is! No food resources in sight, but things could have been worse, right? The red arrow is indicating that there is probably a coastal tile there, though it didn't show up to well in the screenshot.

So, commence capital placement discussion

Hmm, could have been worse, but could have been better too. All in all, not too bad.

Got spare money?

Looks pretty good. We're in the nice temperate lattitudes, not going to be sandwiched N-S, and from the looks of things probably not E-W either.

First thing would be to check the view from the Hill with our Worker....find us something nice to eat. Also, any chance that is a river instead of coast? I haven't played with that graphics set much at all.

Support Apolyton, buy Alpha Centauri

Well, if we're all in agreement that we will move the worker onto the hill, I can go ahead and make that move with the fake-turn before the real one gets to us.

As for that being a river, it is possible, but in my experience with this graphic set, it's most likely a coastal space.

Ok, after chatting with several members of the team, we decided the hill was the best place for our settler to head, so here is the pic of the result:

Help yourself to an AD-FREE life

Are we willing to wait another turn to found the city? 7 of the Hill looks like a good bet.

Browse Apolyton AD-FREE

Agreed, 7/NW looks good. That'll let us pass irrigation directly to the wheat, and it's a better position for a tight core of cities.

Yes, I would agree with 7 from the hill. A good site in general, and like Kloreep said, will let us have a nice core location.

Support Apolyton or Terrorists Win

Played turn #2 earlier today; not much of excitment. Moved our settler 7 to get ready for founding our new home. Interestingly, 3 other civs also did not found capitals on the first turn, just as a point of interest.
