Research Put an end to popups!

We need to decide what to research by two turns from now (I assume we're moving the settler again NW/7)

A list of what starting techs are held by whom:

Pottery: 1 (Cake or Death)
Warrior Code: 3 (Us, Latin Lover, Al-Sahaf)
Bronze Working: 1 (Sunshine)
Masonry: 3 (Us, Monty Python, Monkey)
Alphabet: 5 (Sunshine, Monty Python, Monkey, Latin Lover, Cake or Death)
Ceremonial Burial: 1 (Al-Sahaf)

As you can see, we have average availability techs; each of our techs are known by two other teams. We don't have the common Alphabet or rare techs like CB and Pottery.

So, what should we research? I'm torn between Pottery and The Wheel. Pottery would let us build Granaries, but The Wheel would let us see Horses and build Chariots for Horseman upgrades.

Per the Tabemono chat, my preference is pottery. Granaries are a good kick start for a food team.

Yes, but horses are yummy. I say the wheel, then pottery.

Pottery is more important. We have to store our food or it will go bad.

Probably pottery. Horse meat is excellent, but grain is vital to any nation, and must be stored carefully.

Pottery is worthless if we build the pyramids.

I would still say pottery first. We need to get a base of cities up for production before we take the capitol out of commission to build a wonder. One lone granary in the capital is often enough to get that base of cities up. They can start producing chariots (if our next tech is the wheel and we find horses), while the capital can be working on a wonder.

I just like using chariots as scouts when I don't have real scouts....
