I am sorry for that For some reason, my computer did not show any new posts in the Turn Tracking thread, and when I clicked to check it did not show the new messages, until Maniac posted, which I have just seen I am very sorry for that, quite simply, I had no idea the turn was up. It may be because I had turned off cookies, as I used it while at work too.
Now for the other news, I will, as planned (but only confirmed yesterday) be in Florence as of Tuesday, for 1 week. Obviously another Function will need to take my place as acting Prime Function then. Sorry about that. However, when I get back, since I now have a 2 evening a week job, I have all days a week free, and so should be far more active Free time finally
Thank you for your patience. Things are settling down here now.

Why not? If they PM DBTS who we have already said is not that active, it is quite easy that we could play the turn without him having read and forwarded the message, since they did not send it to me. Therefore we saw that there, and thought we should accept it. We did not know there were conditions attached.
This will not save the pact, but will have 2 effects:
1) It may delay war by 1 or 2 turns while we bicker about it.
2) Flubber said he would leave any PBEM that people didn't stick to the rules with. Googlie will tell them, as he told us, if asked, that what we did was not against the rules, but would not be able to give them any more details, as that would give them info they shouldn't have. They will think because we didn't read it it was not against the rules, whereas it is actually because it is quite simply not against the rules. It may stop Flubber and others leaving, while helping our other diplomacy. It is quite an easy mistake to make, and others may well believe it, as I think PEACE may cause quite a stir if we do this, as they will feel they've been cheated. It is unsportsmanlike, but not against the rules.

So do I wait on playing, or do I play as quickly as possible so it seems like DBTS didn't tell us? The turn is now over 24 hours old, so may be coming to us soon.
Flubber is in Canada right? When is he not online? Maniac needs to send the PM when Flubber won't be online, and then an hour or two later I post the turn, so they cannot reply in between, yet we can say "we couldn't wait any longer for your reply, so decided to play". We've told them DBTS is inactive, so could easily have not told us, and they only PMed him, so we're safe there. You all know I sometimes play the email too hastily ( ) and don't like stopping mid-turn to have to ask things, so I would presume that some sort of deal was reached, which was why they gifted that. It's all plausible
